Little Old Lady killed my car

i was driving down business 30 outside downingtown right by Jeff D'ambrosio Dodge. I came to a stop at a light behind a 08 Lancer (not even a day old)
All of the sudden i hear locked brakes and screeeeeeeching! BA-BAAM, the sound of my Origin Stylish rear end cracking and shattering and at the same time pushing me into the Lancer. So the car that hit me was a 98 plymouth Breeze driven by a 77yr old lady who claims her foot got stuck under the gas pedal, so she didnt have time stop completely. The Lancer has minimal sratches most looked like they could be buffed out. My car took the brunt of the damage, front and rear fiberglass is trashed, my trunk lid is jacked up, driver side quarter panel is pushed foward and crinkled like a raisin, and the impact made my soda explode all over my interior so i have sticky coke all over, and she stretch armstronged my neck on impacr The car still drives just looks like ****....i am so pissed and sad all at once. The only positive is when i take her to Import Intelligence with my insurance check and start grocery listing new goodies

my only concern is that i wont be able to convince the adjuster that my car is worth much more then blue book, especially since i dont have receipts. any ideas?

well you can buy the car back and pull your motor out. your probably screwed with the kit and paint unless you can provide proof of what its worth.

when i got into an accident (my 1996 integra special edition) even though the car was totaled, the insurance claims guy still wanted to come out and look to see what the value of the car was worth. it was already in the junk yard at this time, and i got more for it then what i had orginally paid for it. i didn't have any body work, or any engine work done to it, all i had was clear corners, which you couldn't tell by looking at it, but there was some pices hangin off still, and i had aftermarket taillights on it as well. i also had a sound system in that, but i had already taken that out and all, but all the wires were still left over and where i ripped all the pannels to get to them...speakers, headunit, subbox, and amp...the car was a total loss, which i still miss that car. i was pissed off when that accident happend.

my insurance guy said, i keep the car no matter what, but i just dont see the money being there to bring it back to where it was at least not on the insurance end, unless i get some sort of tuner savvy adjuster

1st off it depends on the actual insurance co. BUT, if it is totalled, your are basically screwed unless you had your policy upgraded. BUT if its not totalled, the insurance company will cover anything up to the totalled amount. MEANING, if your front bumper is smashed and you have a 1000 front mount that was also destroyed, they WILL cover the aftermarket parts as long as the total damage does not exceed the total value of the car. BUT at the same time, the insurance companies only cover "visual" mods, no "performace" mods of any kind. but there is a fine line sometimes. Carbon fiber for instance is one of those things they consider visual even tho some can say its performance also.
The only reason i know this is because i hounded my insurance guy about my coverage to see what would happen if this happened to me. I have Travelers and most co's work the same way. I'm just suggesting not to waste your time making a list until you find out what your insurance co covers.

i was thinkin of drivin it down to Import Intelligence and having the adjuster look at it there and maybe Matt or one of those guys could convey the cars value, but either way i am not too optimistic

I had a 1993 Eclipse...the same thing happened to me..I was sandwiched. Insurance totaled my car..I was devasted. That was my baby. My whole trunk was in my back seat, and my frame was most likely bent. My car drove aswell. I only got about 2g's for the car.
Like the dude said above..it depends on your insurance company and your plan. I hate insurance..they **** you royally. My boyfriend hit a deer, they wanted to total it..It just had a brand new engine put in. BRAND NEW. They didn't care..it wasn't worth it. We pulled the claim and fixed it ourselves..costing maybe a grand at the most..
Good luck!!
