just went and looked at the new wrx

at the dealership, did not get to drive it but it was in the showroom. the car looks waaaaay better in person, the version i saw was the sedan, to those that hate it i encourage you to go see it.

interior is much more refined, seems higher end, radio and hvac seem easier to reach. seats hug you alot more, seems like the bolstering got more aggresive. on the outside the sedan was graphite gray and looked sweet in that color, the rear looks decent in person too. the dual exhaust though to me is stupid looks really well in the back. now the hood scoop, jesus mother of go the thing looks like the holland tunnel the opening is extremely large and there seems to be a deep passage to the intercooler, meaning the scoop is alot closer to the front and the tmic is in the rear. under the hood things look cleaner with more plastic hiding things. almost similar to the legacy.

things i did not like

boring shiftknob, wheel gap is worst, car has no flaring at all.

over all i must say i like the car

subie redid the car tryin to get away from the boy racer look and go more refined.....if anyone wants a refined wrx wouldnt they get a legacy?

the wrx shoudl have stayed the fire breathing rally car it

but i also agree about the nicer interior....................even tho that task wasnt too hard to achieve...

Did you just try and say the Subaru doesnt have nice interior? Also, the new impreza sits on the same chassis the legacy is on just shortened.

No offense Frank but at least Subaru didnt take the interior from one semi decent selling car and plaster it on the entire line up.

compared to a good amount of cars, the impreza has a cheap interior...

and like ive said many many many times, if a car manufacturer finds something that will sell cars, they will do it. if the american public liked dildo shaped cars you better believe the next new thing would be the subaru shaft.

How is the interior cheap? have you been inside any new GM models? its like the car tupperware built!

Subaru interiors are very flowing and well sculpted, compared to say a honda where the pieces just a placed where ever, or even the new Nissans, not only are they cheap but they dont make sense. its almost toyish

i agree that GM interiors feel cheap, but have you ever looked at the carpet? its like effing velcro... looks terrible... then the center console trim scratches easier than the butter soft paint... its all a matter of opinion but i think subaru is barely a notch above gm.

I like the carpet, i look at it from a detailing perspective. I find my car much easier to clean inside than others.

none taken bro, but....
i hope that wasnt a shot at mazda....

we all can agree to disagree but i think subies interior is just par for the course.....its called the mustang disease....the base v6 mustangs interior is plastered into the 45k GT500 interior.....same with the impreza/ sti.....for 15 grand more that interior should be worlds apart....

im not bashing here, MOST car companies interiors suck, but i look at how much each car costs.....the interior of the lancer is nice. it costs 15k....the interior of a evo MR is total ****, its the same damn thing but i hate it in the Mr bc the thing costs TWICE AS MUCH.

see what i mean?

The added cost of the top tier models is never going to be put into different interior pieces. The added cost of an STI or EVO over their base models goes strictly into mechanical parts. A company would never do a complete overhall to an interior because the molds for these pieces cost so much.

Imagine a mold the size of your dash, all solid Aluminum. Easily in the millions of dollars just for 1 cavity, and you probably only get 1 dash out of it every 10min.

You just can't change these things out like diapers from one model to another because there is so much effort an money that goes into making an interior these days.
