New at this. My first few pics

I just bought the rebel xt as part of a birthday present and instead of the kit lens i bought the Canon 50mm f/1.8 since my brother has the kit lens. I love the 1.8 and i'm loving taking pictures.

these are the first few i liked. they're barely edited.

Nice pics. I would like the first one better if it was all black and white. The second pic might look better if you stood a little bit further away and tried to focus on the bubbles. But overall their pretty good for being your first ones .

Thanks for the advice. I agree about the first one i'm really just getting used to using layers and playing with photoshop and i do wish i was further back in that picture but when i saw him playing i didn't have much time to set up because he wasn't too cooperative when i tried getting him to play with the bubbles after that haha.

for you first pics i think they are good. i agree the first would be better in bw or at least everything desaturated. the dog one can be better since the background is blown out and makes it hard to see the detail on the one side. but yea good pics mang. 50mm ftw!
