The Govenator say Hondata Heatshields, Thermalnator, Apex-i Phenolic Gaskets Rule!

Hondata Heatshields, Thermalnator, Apex I Phenolic gasket
Even the Governator says it cools your intake air.

Hondata Heat Shields

The Heatshield is a replacement intake manifold gasket made from special high temperature plastic, designed to insulate the intake manifold from the cylinder head.

Hondata have developed a special high temperature insulating gasket which replaces the stock intake gasket. This and bypassing several heat sources significantly reduces the transfer of heat from the head to the intake and incoming air giving you up to 5% more power.
Turbocharged cars often use an aluminum intercooler to cool the air compressed by the turbo. The intake manifold is also made of aluminum but because it is heated by the head from combustion, works in reverse to an intercooler by heating the intake air by as much as 50° C.
Fact: For every 3.3 °C (5° F) rise in intake temperature, air density drops 1%. The hotter the air, the less fuel the computer injects to compensate for reduced oxygen. HondaLogger datalogging software has enabled us to measure intake air temperature under varied driving conditions.
Around town, testing has shown an average drop of around 10 degrees C which is good for around 3 percent power increase. Remember though that 3 percent power increase is difficult to feel. You'd feel a greater change in performance getting rid of that passenger. In certain conditions a 30° C drop has been measured.

We have these Hondata Gaskets (in bold) in stock pm me to order.

* B18C
* B18A/B18B

* F22-VTEC
* ZC/D16A1(DOHC)
* K20A2, K20A, K20A3, K20Z1 (RSX, 02-05 Civic SI, CRV))
* K20Z3, K24A2 (TSX, Accord, Element, 06-07 Civic SI)
* S2000

Toyota Celica GT-S and Matrix

Mitsubishi 90-94 & 95-99 Eclipse turbo, and Lancer Evo

Nissan 350Z & G35, Sentra SER Spec-V, SR20DET (high port)

Hyundai Tiburon V6 and I4

Mazda 90-93 Miata 1.6L, 94-97 Miata 1.8L, 99-up Miata 1.8L

Subaru WRX

Dodge SRT4, 95-00 Neon 2.0L and 2.4L

Thermalnator

Thermalnator is a unique high temperature shielding gasket which replaces the stock intake manifold gasket. Thermalnator’s cooling properties reduce heat by stopping metal to metal contact between the intake manifold and the engine block. By using a Thermalnator gasket, you will reduce the heat of the air entering your engine, making up to 5% more power. Thermalnator gaskets allow the intake manifold to perform like an intercooler. Because the manifold is no longer heated by the cylinder head, the heat from incoming air can dissipate through the aluminum very rapidly. The basic formula for this is for every 5 degrees F increase in intake air temp, air density is reduced by 1%. The denser the air is, the better the gain in horsepower. Average testing has shown an 11 degrees F drop and up to 35 degrees in some applications. This is why a Thermalnator gasket is an excellent upgrade for your vehicle if it’s stock or modified.

Apex I Phenolic Gasket

The Gizzmo thermal gasket acts as a barrier, stopping heat transfer from the engine block to the intake manifold. Stopping this heat transfer results in a cooler intake temperature charge. A cooler intake air temperature increases engine power much the same way an intercooler does, however the thermal intake manifold gaskets can benefit both turbo and non-turbo vehicles.
The Gizzmo thermal gasket is made of hard, dense material by applying heat and pressure to layers of paper and glass cloth impregnated with synthetic resin. These layers are laminations of cellulose paper, cotton fabrics, synthetic yarn, glass fabrics, and unwoven fabrics.
When heat and pressure are applied to the layers, a chemical reaction (polymerization) transforms the layers into a high-pressure thermosetting industrial laminated plastic.

CONCEPT:
Thermal intake manifold gasket prevents heat soak from transferring from the engine block to the intake manifold, resulting in a cooler intake charge.

CHARACTERISTICS:
* More power and torque * Better throttle response * Improved fuel economy

Turns out they can be made, only issue is you have to get 5 made at least not just one. So if anyone else is interested in these we can figure something out.

ordering mine now... i'd definitely recommend that anyone taking their intake manifold off use these gaskets as a replacement instead of purchasing oem ones again.

The DynaPack Dyno Sheet below is a before and after
test of the Thermalnator Intake Manifold Gasket done on a B16A2 motor.

Below are some pictures of a used Thermalnator intake manifold gasket.

The gasket was pulled off of a 497 HP turbo charged S2000. This engine produces an extreme amount of heat and as you can see by the pictures below, the gasket has held up to the test. This gasket has been used for 60,000 Miles and has countless hours of street/track use on it. This engine is getting upgraded and the gasket will be reused in the next engine set up.

There was no melting or deformation of the gasket, unlike the competition's gasket.
