whos college/university offers Graphic Design?

Heres my dilemma im 3yrs into a "3year bachelor program" at AIPH (art institute of Philadelphia), meaning your suppose to be graduated in 3 years. Im exactly 3 quarters from graduating from this place if i take the right amount of classes when i need them, and i must hope to god all of them are availible to be taken at the time that i need. This whole 3yr advanced program seems to be the scheme of scaming people into thinking there a more advanced school or something because it sure worked for me and lots of others. Dont get me wrong its a good school but out of my whole class that started when i started going here, only 2 graduated when they were supposed to, this past quarter. Im also tired of this whole scheduling b/s they put me through at the begining of each quarter. I make my schedule the way i want it mid way threw the quarter before then when it comes arround it seems like i never even did it and then have class 4 out of 5 days a week. They claim they can never do anything about it because classes are filled or they dont offer them on other days or even without interfearing with classes im already taken at the time. Tell you the truth im fed up with it. Im looking for another school and im tired of playing there game, and busting my balls to work a summer vacation thats only 3 weeks long and now i have to go back today! So if any of you go to a school that offers graphic design or currently are involved in a graphic design program somewhere id apreciated if you could post up about it with some details because i have to make up my mind within the next week basically (NO COMMUNITY COLLEGES PLEASE and also im looking for something close to Delaware county or the Philadelphia region). My GPA is now a 3.0 and so i should be able to be accepted alot of other places. Ive wanted to look into PSU and Cabrini to see if they offer Graphic Design but i havent got a chance to yet.

Clif notes: I dont want to not be able to not work enough to pay to park my car for the week that i go to school, plus im tired of weak ass school scheduling excuses from the "advisors" so im looking elsewhere rather then go to a overcharging illustrator education lacking school. Any ideas on where to go to continue my Graphic design education for my bachelors degree?

I went to the University of the Arts on broad street... Amazing program! 4 years for a bachelors though. Ranked #2 for that major!

I wouldnt advise going up there. I took a trip up there looking into their architecture program and the school wasnt the nicest i have seen. Theres random stray cats all over campus that they actually leave bowls of milk out for in the buildings.

Art Institute FTL. I've been there almost 5 years. The only upside is I've passed competency in half my classes, which is really easy in this school. Free credits FTW.

You learn soooo much, its crazy

If you are going for an associates degree go to the institute... if bachelors go to UArts... Only a few blocks away and a much more detailed reputable program. Graphic Design is such a competative industry... If you want to go anywhere you need an education that stands out.

Oh and also, when I transfered from AiPH to U.Arts, not 1 single credit transfered

You also may have to do something called Foundation, which is full for next year already
It's a course all incoming freshmen take their first year before going into their major

Well heres the difference between U Arts and AIPH

U arts is 15-20k MORE and im already looking at enough cost wise going to aiph. AIPH has been ranked higher then U arts the last couple of years in GD also. Personally from what ive heard they also dont teach Illustrator like they should either and thats something im looking for also. My teacher, (Calhoun) has been in the field for 20+ years and has never met anyone that graduated from U Arts for GD (thats enough to scare me away from going there)

Thats with any reputable art school... AI always seemed like a "crash course" school. But hey, do what you want, it's your career. My advice comes from a UArts graduate of '04 and now a senior art director at a local advertising agency. Good luck.
