one of the good vibrations crew was killed...

last thursday morning one of our employees was killed while riding his motorcycle in cheltenham. His name is Arcadio Perez (AKA big daddy pete) Pete has been with us at good vibrations for over three years. in those three years he has befriended just about everyone that walked through our door, from old women to 3 year old kids who were tagging along with their parents.
besides being one of the sickes installers and customizers you will ever see, pete was the nices guy in the world. if a friend asked him for 100 dollars and he didnt have it, he would borrow it from someone else to make his friend that much more comfortable. Pete would go out of his way to pick people up if they didnt have a car, or on his days off would get parts for a job for the coming day.
when pete was hit, he wasnt going 140 MPH down the highway, or doing stunts down cheltenham ave, he was sitting at a stop sign when he was broad sided by a E350 full of illegal workers. on top of this these workers were drunk...
Most of the people on this forum dont know our shop, or any of the guys that work there. The reason im writing this is to reinforce the notion that life is so fragile. think before you do things that could potentially put others at risk. i know i have been guilty of drinking and driving on a few occasions and thank god nothing bad happened. Because of these peoples irresponsible actions three little girls lost their daddy, and a wife has become a widow. as well as hundreds of people lost a best friend.
People like Pete make the world a better place and his death will affect so many people in so many different ways.
Here is a picture of him not long before the accident

Pete, my man.....he will be missed. Its definately a huge loss in our family. Him and thos damn Black & Milds, as he would say Ass & Milds.

Pete has gone way out for me on certain things that had nothing to do with him. He always treated everyone he knew as if they were one of his family members. There are so many stories and things I can say about his kind heart, but people just wouldnt understand unless they knew him....

Just looking at that pic definately breaks my heart. Pete, I love you man!!!

It also kind of hurts that I was just with him the night before and for some weird reason I remembered his very last words to me "See ya my brutha!". The weird thing is that when people say bye, nbo one really thinks of any typ[e of meaning behind it. That day/night before was just weird for me.

Sorry to hear this. It is a terrible thing when a good person is taken early. I wish all the best to his family and hope he rests in peace.

Steve told me about this and I didn't want to believe him. When I first met Pete knew me for five minutes and had no hesitation to let me borrow his tools to fix my IC piping long ago. I am very sad to here this news and if you guys set up something in his remembrance I will be donating.

wow this is so sad.
hopefully it will at least get through to a few people, and instead of reading a story like this and saying 'thats sad, but i'm ok when i drink and drive' like so many people do for some reason, maybe, just maybe, this might convince some people to draw the line and never ever mix drinking and driving again, because like it has here, it can be tragic.

I'm in total agreement with Bryan, yet again.

Drinking and driving should never; even be contemplated in the same THOUGHT...but that's not the total issue at hand.

Rest in Peace Pete, I only met you maybe a handful of times, but still knew how good of a person you are.

Please; don't NOT tell TST about any fund-raiser/memorial things, I might not have transportation, but I WILL be there...
