new camera!

I've been doing a bunch of research for a new camera after selling the D70, and i've narrowed my search to two cameras; the 30D and the XTi. I'm just curious to hear what the canon users think about the two and which one would seem to be the better choice. To me, the 30D seems to have more options although it shoots at less megapixels which isn't a really big deal anyway. i've also heard that the 30D feels much better to hold even though it may be a little big for me ( one of the main reasons i got rid of the D70 was its size ). So any opinions will be appreciated. thanks guys

not even a close contest. I'd take a use 20D over an XTi. The only worthwhile feature on the XTi (upgrade from the XT) is the better autofocus system (same as the 30D). The sensor cleaning doesn't work. The extra megapixels is nothing to call home about. The viewfinder proximity sensor... nothing special. Novices won't even use the 15-20 other features that the XTi overs (improvements over the XT).

I own each line of Canon's digital camera bodies, so I let people test them out beforehand. It's pretty obvious when you hold and use each one. A battery grip helps make the XTi more comfortable to hold but the 30D is a little wider; the extra girth helps make the hand grip the camera more comfortably.

thanks for the info. i'd look for a used camera but i'm kind of in a time crunch for a camera so it looks like i'll be picking up a 30D in the next couple of days.
