Good Article on White Balance for those interested in getting the lowdown...

Found this article, it may be too basic for some but I'm sure it will help others as it explains what white balance is, how it works, and how to make it work for you.

It was pretty basic to me. Which is good, because that means I understood it. lol. Very good read

Good article, i've never played around with the custom white balance feature on my camera. I'll usually put it on a setting which I think will yield the best results (daylight, shade, cloudy, etc.), and if I have to i'll edit it later in photoshop. But I'm trying to focus more on taking better pictures, so I don't have to do as much post processing, and this article will definately help me with that.

I had nothing better to do so I tried using the custom white balance feature for the first time, thought i'd share. Lighting is a 25watt light bulb.

Auto white balance:

Tungsten white balance (the setting I normally use with this lighting):

sick, good comparison. up until recently i only ever used a preset white balance, but recently i started using custom white balance and nailing the color is a pretty huge part of making the editing quicker and easier, and producing a better end result.
