wallet stolen help?

so i was at a party on Saturday night drinking..i jumped in the pool with my phone and wallet in my pockets.. i put my wallet in a towel so it would dry..i look back like 5min later and the moneys gone and everyone knows who took it.he left right away Im totally broke now and im wondering if its worth even reporting to the police.. i heard the owner of the house is responsible for anything missing if nobody would confess? everyone keeps saying try to press charges but im not even sure if it would be worth it

as far as the owner of the house being responsible for your lost/stolen items i don't think thats true, for any action to be taken place, the police need proof that a crime has been commited, maybe if other people at the party will come forward and say they saw who did it you may have a chance, if not, i think it would be a waste of time, the police probably have a lot of things to do, but idk call and ask, find out if theres anything you can do.

i have the wallet they left that they just took the money and the only reason i would do that is to see if whoever took it would say something if they thought the owner had to pay for it.. i would'nt actually take their money

^I agree!!!
How much money did you loose? Consider that payment for the lesson you learned, knowledge isn't cheap ya heard!

seems like this could have been easily avoidable if you acted more responsibly.

No point in pressing charges, even though "everyone" knows who took it good luck trying to prove it. If you are sure of who took it resolve the issue yourself, going to the police will be a waste of time.

How much money are we talking about here?

Did they take anything else?

Credit cards, etc?

..not to mention it would be pretty hard to explain to the police why you would have been in a pool with your wallet in your pocket had you been sober.

and that opens up the owner to repurcussions for providing alcohol to minors and all that jazz.

sounds like a terrific way to repay someone who let you come to a party at their place

bottom line.. personal responsibility. learn it.

1. Get crowbar
2. go to dude's house
3. ask for money back
if money is not received, go to step 4
4. smash his car's windshield and drive away.

hey now he can use your money to fix his windshield, right?

How much money do most people here carry on them? I carry 50 at the most, and even that is rare.
