what do you guys think the cannon s3? im thinking about buying a new camera. im trying to keep the price range at around 300, while getting something with a few manual features that my current camera lacks.

I'd say go for it... I have the previous model, the S2 and I think it is great. I'm still learning to use it correctly myself....but for the price, you get a camera that can be used fully automatic with adjustable f-stops, shutter speed, flash intensity, etc..etc...

can you post any pics you took with the s2? form what i hear the are very similar.

Heres a few... They have been resized so they are viewable.
I'm no pro, so lighting is off and my compsition isn't the greatest, but they should be an ok example. The one of the ground hog was from a second story open window, zoomed, and hand held... an attribute to the great image stabilization feature, because I"m a shaky handed mofo. The one of the flower is an example of the macro setting. That flower was the size of a penny.
