He wants to use the vtec as nitrous. I am not a vtec expert but I am going to put a large wager on no.

you could do it. take your vtec controller, splice an on off switch on to the power wire for the controller, and set the controller to the lowest engagment point, that way you can turn the controller on while past the engagemnet point thus engaging vtec on demand. I'm pretty sure some variation of that technique will work for what you want. You can get switches at pep boys. let me know if it works, if not put the wires back together and no harm. lemme know if it works

You talking about "vtec killer cams" They are not street friendly and struggle to idle below 1500 rpm (maybe even as high as 2000rpm)

yeah i dont really see the point in doing it. it's really not worth all the trouble of wiring a bunch of crap. v-tec already kicks in when you need it via safc neo.

yeah this thread makes me sad, and I am not even a honda guy.
VTEC isnt a power booster, it may do that as a result of its function, but its not that simple. VTEC allows (if my memory from old SCC articles is right) a third cam lobe to be engaged at a high RPM to optimize the massive amount of air that is available at that high RPM. Using this lobe at a lower RPM will not give you more power. This is the same way the long/short runners on the Spec-V's work. At low RPM the short runners are used because at that RPM, that is what works best. At high RPM, the long runners in the manifold are used to optimize top end power. Cliffnotes: lowering vtec is like humping a wall.
