it's actually pretty old technology. (not saying it's not cool) but it's nothing new...

that is pretty bad ass. however they need to scale something like that down into a product for home use.

speaking of bill gates and steve jobbs... i was just watching this interview with both of them today. you can tell they really hate each other. .lol

Amazing technology, maybe they just came out with it, maybe not, but they're definitely the first to apply it. I can't wait til they actually have a real OS and applications running on it. This could revolutionize the way we use computers.

Not quite, one of the iphone's claims to fame is that it has the multi touch. The rumor is that Apple is thinking of putting the same thing into a tablet pc.

There was a video floating around a while ago with someone using a multi-touch screen to transform patterns on the screen. This was well over a year ago, so multi-touch has been around for a little while.

Regardless the screens ability to interface with other objects is pretty cool!

yeah there was a thread on tst with a link to a video of an asian guy (sorry thats the best description i can give) doing a demonstration for a group of people at a technology conference using one. he was arranging and sizing photos, doing a lava lamp program that heated up the lava where you touched it, and other things.
this vid seems to be a transformation of the same technology, applying it a bit more to every day use, and is very cool. i think we will see it everywhere in time. the next 20 years holds a lot more technological advances than i think any of us can imagine.
