I had my first car into STS Tire & Auto for service and inspection about 5 years ago. They kept it longer than I had expected, and I called to see if the inspection was done. It wasn't but they said they would expedite it becuase I had alreayd waited X amount of business days without a car. I received the car back with renewed inspection and seemingly fully serviced and running great.

Within 7 days, my head gasket blew. Seems that it had developed a 6 inch crack in the radiator which drained all sorts of fluid.

Now, how could a car that passed inspection and was fully serviced develop a 6 inch crack in the headgasket within a week? My guess is that they were trying to speed through the process and overlooked the radiator to get me to stop calling them.

Not saying don't take the job there, but keep your eyes open. I've heard similar stories to mine above about the business practices at STS.

when i was 16 i needed my car inpsected and took it to sts, they had me drop it off bc my appointment was during busy times....i didnt mind but my step dad sure did....hes weird...anyway he calls them and freaks on them sayin that since i had an apt that i should be taken care of or whatever he said and they were like ok well be done soon. so they rushed the hell out of it and prolly didnt look at anything bc the next WEEK my front brake pads fell out of the caliper bc they were so thin and frail that they broke in half and fell out, i kid you not....

it was ugliness, but the upside is that that was the changing point in my life, my bros friend was into cars and he suggested a certain brake setup to get for my car. i got EBC greenstuff pads and drilled rotors on all four corners and that thing stopped better than anything i ever dreamed of (at the time) after that, i was hooked into messin with chassis stuff ever since....

I work next to the STS in Frazer. Seems like a decent place and I just got my oil changed there today. Didn't take too long either. Good people too.
