Ok everyone lets thing for a second you dont buy gas from one company on one day and then you go back and buy gas later when the price doesnt really drop. So being the smart Dexter I am why not do this instead. DO NOT BUY GAS FROM SHELL OR MOBILE AT ALL. Go to your local gas station or the smaller companies and give THEM the business. This way the gas stations are not just hurt for one day but FOR A LONG TIME. That will really put a hurting in the wallets. One day to them is as hurtful as a flick in the nose. A full out NO BUY WEEKS OR MONTHS will really kick them in the balls. I can't believe no one has thought of posting this. So instead of Gas Day, lets do GAS STRIKE! Starting on Gas Day DO NOT BUY GAS FROM SHELL OR MOBILE AT ALL. SPREAD THE WORD!!!!

...and where precisely do you think the "little" gas stations buy their gas from? Oh, right, the big gas companies who own all the refineries. You want to "hurt" oil company profits...cut back on demand (aka drive less or more fuel efficient vehicles)...develop alternative fuels that aren't oil based...get the people sitting on top of the 70% of the remaining oil reserves to stop hating each other and the U.S. Anything else is just a stunt and has no chance in hell of actually doing anything to lower gas prices.

Actually last year on the gas day the oil companies lost 30Billion dollars and gas drop 30cents. Yes the smaller gas companies buy from the larger ones but still you dont give business to a business they are going to lose money. if no one buys gas from a couple shell stations for a month or two, you know how much money will be lost to that business. They wont be able to run there day to day operations with no money and be forced to bring down there prices. Its not just buying the gas its puttin a hurtin on the name and there day to day operations. It just makes sense to me.

^^Clint you idiot read the post I SAID ONE DAY DOESNT DO NOTHING you /life . Barry no no one broke into my name I just think if everyones going to do this damn gas thing do it for longer and hurt one company in a long run then in a day period. It makes sense.

I can't pick out too many people other than myself that can go months without buying gas...and not many others that would be willing to coordinate such a thing.

Therefor, the post in general is a stupid plan.

The smaller companies? Yeah, they're owned by the big companies. They don't sport the names, but that doesn't mean they're not owned by them.

its not a stupid idea if we put a hurting on a business then that company may lower gas prices just to try and save business. If you dont buy gas from one supplier put a hurtin on them then they can come down. The idea is stupid for one day. I long stand that if we can get more intrest in may make an impact. My idea may seem stupid cause no ones gonna do it and blah blah blah. However if I can get the word out and people maybe took it serious who knows.

One supplier down, demand is still high, and other suppliers getting business? Prices go up.

Oil companies will always be making money. Do you have any idea how much oil goes into making tires? Don't but any more of them either. Hell, stop using oil heat!

The post title says "Day." It's pointless. Oil is too far integrated into our daily lives. Major corps will let one shop fall. They may lose revenue from that station, but that's all good, cause they'll raise their others by a few more cents.

On paper, it works...until you look at a bigger picture than just gas.

Come up with a different means for everything other than oil, and DON'T get shot down by the government/oil industry, and maybe then something will work.
