So I finally joined the Subie Family!!!

So after looking for a while to find a decent deal I finally found one I didn't miss out on and now I am a proud owner of a 5 Speed 96 Impreza Brighton AWD!

It isn't the best looking but with a little work it will be in great shape...I think I am already going to retire the EJ18 for a EJ22 since the I found a decent low mile one for cheap and why not get a little extra power...but I might boost the EJ18 before I remove it to see what it can handle

On with the pictures!!

and a picture on the bunny I bought my GF

eh FWD has its limits and I know that my CRX is and still will be my favorite, I just needed something different for a while and I can now get home when it snows..lol

I'm thinking a GT25 on the stock EJ18 till it blows and then swap in a decent EJ22...I'm not gonna mess around with the over priced WRX/STI motors...

I'm also a HMT guy and Pete knows we are a different breed

Welcome to the AWD, enjoy. And SOME WRX swaps are over priced. It depends.

If you wanted to I could probably snag a slavaged STi for like 7k which would have the engine, tranny, seats, rims, wing, and gaugecluster/dash. You'd be beat on the steering wheel though since they usually come deployed.

Thanks for the offer but thats more than I'd spend on stuff, I'm sure its a decent deal... I bought, swapped and turboed my CRX for $3K...so this project will be on a similar budget...

Right now I am just fixing things up on it...I'd say how much i paid for it but right now I have 4 cars and i need to sell atleast 1 or 2 asap and worste case this will go...but hopefully not, someone buy my MSP!!! I'm taking all offers in to consideration!! But I got it for a steal compared to other similar year and model Imprezas!!

He wants to make a HMT kit for prolly less than $1000 dollars, I'm sure a 7k STi swap is nowhere near his budget or wants, plus then he would be like 90% of the modded ones out there, it seems like everyone and their mom wants to drive an STi no matter what their car really is (remember that Vdub with an STi bumper? lol)

LOL you seem to know me very well

Yea an STI swap dosen't really apeal to me but goobs of boost feed to stock/junkyard motor seems like tons of fun!!!

Atleast I'd rather boost the piss out of a cheap motor, see what it can handle, blow it up and repeat over and over again!!! the only difference between this and my CRX is that 300whp in a CRX is almost the limit or what the car can use...after that point its hard to get traction...with the impreza I have room for more power, hopefully!

LOL I tried to do a burn out last night...you know just to see, I figured it would just stall or burn the clutch but...instead it freaking launched hardcore!!! LOL not used to that....usually i just burn tires off!!
