new evox

here are some new pics

Officially arriving in the first quarter of 2008 (as a 2009 model), the Evo X will host a 2.0L turbocharged inline-four mated to an all-wheel steering system with stability control.

No chance I'll be driving a gtr so it doesn't make a difference while I'm looking at pics. Then again I probably will never get an evo either so... oh well

i do agree with this statement, but i dont like the new evo. the pros are it looks different. But the cons are: the turbo is firewall side mouted, harder to work on. NO MANUAL. and its got like HUGE wheels like 19's

After seeing the new lancers in person. I cant say Im gonna be a fan no matter what they do. The IX will be the best looking Evo to date IMO.

I'm still trying to figure out why you guys are stressing about the rear mounted turbo? It actually makes sense a lot of sense instead of running the downpipe under the engine it just exits right there. It's just as easy to cool if not easier with the hood scoop, it just makes for a little bit more of a PIA to work on. Not to mention that your intake temps will be cooler due to a shorter route from the cold side of the IC to you IM. Instead of running it along the engine again where your temps will increase

it will be available with both a manual and an auto with the paddles i believe. the reverse mounted turbo is not too bad to work on either, im used to it from working on srt's

read below

Why it is one of our most significant: We love the Lancer Evolution. The tenth iteration-previewed by this concept-should be the best-ever, with a more technologically advanced all-wheel drive system and over 300 horsepower, not to mention some more than attractive sheet metal that's bound to win over a few people who hated the look of the Evo IX. Oh, and it could help lift Mitsubishi out of a very tight spot here in America. Read our full story below.

X is Roman for ten. But we'd like to think it denotes and X rating--for the meanest, rawest Evo ever made. This future rally rocket was first previewed by the Concept X from last year's Tokyo auto show, and now a closer version is being shown here at Detroit. When the car goes on sale around this time next year, power will continue to come from a 2.0-liter turbo four, but output will push past the current Subaru WRX STI's 300-hp rating and a new, aluminum block will be used. Because it would be a shame not to use the new Outlander SUV's lovely magnesium-alloy paddle shifters, an automated manual transmission will be offered alongside a traditional 5-speed manual box. Naturally, the Evo will be driven by all four wheels, via a new S-AWC (Super All-Wheel Control) system that Mitsubishi promises will rival Honda's SH-AWD in sophistication. The new system will feature active steering, active yaw control, and myriad electronic sensors. We hope S-AWC doesn't compromise the great steering possessed by Evos VIII and IX--after all, Mitsubishi promises this will be the "largest leap in overall capability between two generations of the Evolution."
