Wow I can only imagine what its like reeling that bad boy in. Like the article says I imagine that will be very useful to scientists.

The picture of that thing in the water is nuts. I know it couldn't happen, but screw sharks, imagine running into that while swimming around

pfft, probably more on the lines of 300k since it is worth millions to scientists. If I recall correctly scientists were offering 200k for giant spider crabs, the ones that grow to like 6 feet long. I would imagine that a giant squid would be considerably more just because they are more rare.

I see the shows all the time on the Giant Squid. I read this quick did they catch it alive?? If they did thats luck right there.

i think it was dead by the time they pulled it up into the boat. it was caught in their fishing net and i would assume it died in there as a lot of animals die in those things.

Actually it was a collosal squid. Apparently the collossal squid and giant squid are different.
