It's only good money if you are good at selling. This guy who was our realtor worked 3 jobs just to keep his family fed and keep his house while others I know are livin it up makin 400k a year

I think it really depends on your location and selling ability. I know its pretty easy to get certified though....

Yes, it's VERY easy. There were some straight up retards in my real estate course, as well as licensing session. Most all of them passed. If some of those people could pass, a monkey could pass also. No offense meant to you, maybe you just had a bad month or two, or a really bad (as in no show) teacher.

Back to the original topic, it's NOT the time to get in to real estate (as a seller/buyers agent). New Realtors are basically, no, literally doing JACK **** right now. At a time where the market is statistically slow, nobody wants to take a chance with a Realtor. They want one that's already proven themselves. When the market was hot, a monkey literally could sell a house. Unfortunately (or fortunately if you are a buyer), the market is no longer hot and houses have been on it longer than ever. If you plan on taking courses to learn, it's well worth it at the price that they offer them. I'm glad that I spent a couple hundred bucks to get to learn about all of the basics of real estate (but in all honesty, you could get the book and learn on your own).

I have a uncle whos an agent in Fla. and my aunt whos an MD.

They live on the BUTLER LAKES. Next door to the right is Shaq, to left is Tiger Woods.

Answer your question?

Just remember, we are on the downside of a buying trend. I would look into the job market, see if agencies are hiring or firing.

My mom has been in real estate for over 30 years. I wouldn't say "selling ability" plays a big role in it. You're not trying to convince anyone to buy a house, either they like the house and are interested or they aren't. You're not going to talk anyone into buying something they don't initially want. The only thing you really need to "sell" is yourself, to the client, so they would want to work with you.

Owning real estate is where its at. Buy what you can afford and rent it out.

Owning commercial R.E. is even better. It's all in what you can put out up front$$$$$$.

I have been looking at getting into it, part time of course just for some extra cash here and there. The market is falling and it's a pretty bad time to get into it.
