And you think driving in the snow is bad...

So, I was supposed to fly home to Philly tonight from Kansas City on USAir. Needless to say, that didn't happen. Not only is Philly completely shut down, but so is Newark, Baltimore, DC, and NY. Now, onto the best part! Kansas City had ZERO flights out to Philly the entire weekend! Aside from people already flying those days and the thousands of people trying to get places today, it's also Spring Break!! The earliest USAir could confirm a flight was Tuesday Morning, and that's including American and United! I couldn't even fly to another hub like Charlotte because every flight out of KC was sold out today and tomorrow to almost EVERYWHERE, and Charlotte had no flights to Philly until Monday. I thought about trying to go to Baltimore and driving, but same deal. Snow officially sucks...

But, in the end, after standing at the USAir counter for 45 min with my laptop open at the same time looking for flights on my own, I nabbed one of the last tickets from St. Louis to Philly for Saturday afternoon on Southwest. I figured it's only 3 1/2 hrs to St. Louis, worst case I'll drive. When I went to the other terminal to Southwest, I lucked out again and was able to get on a flight leaving about an hour later to St. Louis. Now, the weather better ****ing improve by tomorrow afternoon so I'm not stuck out here!

Moral of the story....hope you never get stuck trying to fly somewhere in the snow, because people are stuck places for days.

No, Kansas City, MO to St. Louis, MO is 3 1/2 hours. I was in KC and booked the flight to Philly leaving STL before I had a way to get to STL.

At least I never have to worry about hotel rooms, one of the many benefits of being a Hilton Honors Diamond VIP. I guess all this travel has it's perks too...
