Any shops/mechanics wanna check my clutch out?

Well, as most know, my cars been running like ****, has no power at all, and stalls out. We checked the cat, not clogged.

So this has been mentioned to me a few times, my clutch may have been installed incorrectly a few months back. So I was womdering if anyone could fit me in and check it out for me, see what's going on.

Let me know, please.

Are you saying the clutch might be slipping? Thats the only thing I could think of that would cause power loss from a bad installation. If that was the case, the clutch would be cooked by now rendering the car inoperable.

The clutches in the 420a engines/drivetrains are modular clutches (usually). I don't know if you have the version with a seperate flywheel and clutch assembly or not. The modular clutches are REALLY hard to install incorrectly.

I had an ACT in before, and I felt slip in it, and I wanted to sell the car, so I had them put in an OEM assembly like you said. If you would drive my car, you'd see my concern.

Get a vacuum gauge at pep boy, or autozone, it a cheap tool useful for diagnosing simple problems.
Also, check ofr vaccum leaks, an easy way to do that, it to get some brake clean, and while the engine is running, "spot check" different areas, IE, just spray a little bit in the particular area you want to check.
Spray spots one at a time, and if there is a vacuum leak, the vacuum will pull in the engine cleaner, and it will make the engine idle change.
Check-
Throttle bodly gaskets, throttle body seals, intake manifold gasket, any rubber hoses or plugs.
Also, double check all the stupid stuff-
Look at the condition of your plugs. Look for excess soot, and other foulants on the plug
Check the resistance of your plug wires to make sure they are all the same, i had a set with a small pinhole in them, and it made my idle not worth crap.
Double check the timing
block off the PCV valve on the intake manifold, use a rubber plug, see if this helps, you may have a bad pcv valve

put a fuel pressure guage on the rail. look for a shrader valve on the fuel rail(is there one?) or tee into the supply line, be sure to use HP clamps and fuel injected fuel line.

check for vacuum leaks.. get a can of carb cleaner or throttlebody cleaners.
turn the car on and spray all the vacuum hoses and where the connect.
if the car starts to stall or almost stalls when you spray any on the lines you have a leak there.
i bet they disconnected something when they did your clutch an dthen never hooked it back up.. That or they broke or ripped a line during the install.

yes . it could be something else .. but without me actually seeing the car and experiencing the problem its hard to diagnose.
But try what i said and lmk what happens.

how far are you from milltown(08850)? maybe i could come check it out one day soon. Lmk.

Check your battery voltage. Could be a bad battery/alternator? It's hard to diagnose over the internet though.
