I just went home for the weekend for the first time in awhile. I found out there was four shootings in my little ass town in the last week, and theres been at least one shooting a week for the last few months. I think there has been about a death a month, including one thursday nite. Every town paper has gang violence filling the pages. This is scary b/c all while i was growing up none of this happened, and now kids i rode the bus with and even our all-state star football RB are either shooting people or getting killed. Its all gang related, and there is about two gang arrests a week in the paper, its gettin hectic. Its been going on since the big gang/drug arrests a few years ago, but just recently its goin really downhill.

Anyone else seeing anything similar? Discuss...

oh ya, its Pemberton Township, kids used to ask me if i had seen ppl get shot while i was growin up, its crazy that its really going on now.

its already like that in trenton. im pretty much used 2 it now so i guess it doesnt bother me as much anymore since i know where all the high risk places are.

most of the ppl that they arrest are from trenton and camden, two guys from trenton killed this kid i used to ride the school bus with, knocked on his door, told his mom they were friends, and walked up to his room and shot him... Its crazy, i would expect it in the city, but not in my little suburban town, especially not on the scale that its startgin to reach

Only thing I ever went to Pemberton was to go to On Target Paintball. The area seemed so small and out of the way that I never imagined gang violence there.,

haha i know who owns that place, its like a 2 minute quad ride from my house... its crazy that with all those woods, anyone but hunters shoot guns, but even the nice neighborhoods are getting violent, and there are some housing areas taht used to be military during Vietnam that are now either boarded up or rented out and mostly trashed to hell, they tell the cops not to sit on the couches, b/c the ****roaches are all over... Theres even certain areas that you cant drive thru without being offered crack or meth, no matter the time of day, its crazy as hell

A guy I play poker with is a Pemberton cop and he always has interesting stories. I didn't believe it at first because I live like 15 minutes from their and I never noticed it.

yah, i drink with a few of the cops every once in awhile, and the stories they have are crazy. It sucks b/c there are parts that arent that bad, like where i live, then there are parts that are constantly filled with cops, with ongoing drugs and violence.

Pemberton Township has always been bad! Maybe not with the shootings and gang stuff, but it was never a pleasant town to live in....

im from trenton and yea **** been gettin crazy...i was actually down in pemberton a couple days ago...its so small..when i was out there it was so quiet and peacefull...now this surprises me

its never been good, but the crime was always little stuff till recently... **** im happy i grew up here tho, now that im at school im more 'seasoned' then most, and i have seen so much more than most, makes for a more interesting life story and a better personality than all the kids at my school who have had everything handed to them their whole life. I wouldnt take it back for anything, but i wouldnt want to be living there any longer either. living in the woods FTW!

What part were you in? Compared to the city, most people are ok and most areas okay, its just certain places and times that it gets real ugly.

It sucks pretty bad, i mean i used to ride the school bus with that kid, he was always messing around but not to a point you would expect this to happen down the road. And the mom had to feel awful, they shot him while she was in the other room, and her boyfriend went and saw him, then wouldnt let her out to see what had happened. At least they caught the guys, over the summer there were a few shootings that no one was caught for.

nothing that intense in my area but on saturday night at a school event (NHS Gym Night) two jr's were kicked out of the dance for wearing "gang attire". the had on blue L.A. hats w/ the new era stickers on the brim. apparently that's considered gang attire.

The funniest part to me is that Gangs really have nothing to do with just killing people. Always been about making money. Its these young knuckle (sp) heads thats doing this dumb ****. You dont hear nothing about the OG's killing no one. And most of these young kats are perpitrators(sp). The **** gets me so mad. You think your a tough guy cuz you can pull a trigger on a gun. I say put em all in jail so they can get butt rapped till they die. Gangs these days are for pussies that cant defend them selves.

my senior year they tried to ban white tee's and the snowman shirts, needless to say 90% of the school went out and bought both, and it fell thru...

Generally, my school averaged a fight a day, and im not talkin "oh well they yelled at each other and threw a punch or two!" im talkin "he took a lunch tray to the face!" or "they threw him thru the window" sort of stuff. Kids were taken to the hospital about twice a month. There has even been over the years times when the kids rioted, and they had to bring in police with automatic guns to keep **** under control. Not all fights were that intense, but it happened a lot. We had cameras EVERYWHERE, at least one, sometimes two cops, and security gaurds everywhere. lol i guess it was pretty crazy growin up there now that i think about it

yea we're not that intense at nhs, we have camera's in certain spots, and a couple rent-a-cops walking around but nothing that serious, the worst kind of crap we get is kids gettin busted w/ weed in their lockers and the occasional fist fight
