I need major help with my eclipse!

Well, my car went on the dyno today and well bad new. It needs a idler pulley, timing belt and water pump. The shop said bout 900$ for all. Is there anyone that could possibly help me out and do some or even all of the work cheaper?

Dude, in all honesty, and i assure you that im in NO way trying to be a dick. Would it make sense to give up on this car, i mean, if you look at the mitsu tech page, its alot of you having problems. In no way am i hating on your car, If you love that year eclipse, sell yours put up a lil extra money, get one that seems more reliable. I just hate to see you have a new problem everyweek, i honestly feel bad. your always spending money fixing your car which takes money away from the mod fund, correct? haha So in all honestly get a good deal of money for it by selling it to a mexican, buy a new one that wont seem to give you as many problems. I would honestly like to see you have a nice eclipse.

Im really sorry if i offended you, i just hate seeing this happen to a fellow mitsu owner.

No offense taken at all dude, I'm sick of this DSM bull****. I've had 3 of them. And I haven't even listed half the problems I have had with it. Juss the other day I was driven and ALL my headlights shorted out. My exhuast is about to fall off, and other lil b.s. If I could sell it the way it is, I would, but it won't.I've had for sale signs all over the thing for the last month. I don't even wanna mod nemore, that's the sad thing. I want a car that's dependable, and I can lower and put "light mods" on. I wanna start building a studio, its a dream of mine and I wanna pursure it, and this car is certainly not helping. Thanks for not bein a dick like 80% of the people on here would.

no ...

but, t-belts, water pumps and pulleys are maintanence parts that will need to replaced eventually on any car. Just feel lucky that you have a uh.. "dsm" with a 420a and not a dsm with a 4g63. The 420a is a non-interference motor afaik so if the t-belt goesyou could just head to your local neon dealer and get a new belt and be OK.

It's a technicality but he's right, it's not a DSM, the partnership between Mitsubishi and Chrysler, folded in 1991 Mitsubishi still made cars for Chrysler on a contractual basis. In 1993 Chrysler sold its equity in Mitts. and in 1995 Diamond Star Motors disappeared and the name was changed to Mitsubishi Motor Manufacturing of America. They changed their name again in 02. You could argue though that it's a "DSM" because it came from that original partnership or you could just say that no matter the title it's easily broken.

You better believe he's right. I could absolutely understand someone calling their 2g gsx or gs-t a dsm but were talking something with a neon powerplant.

So, youre saying its not a "dsm" because the name changed. 1995 eclipses and talons were made before the name change so does it really make sense to call the ones made from 90-95 dsms and not the rest? 1/5th of 2gs are real dsms but not the other 4/5ths. It was the same plant, same production, same corporation heading it, just under a different name. Im sorry, I see your point but, blah, its all way to in depth to even make an argument about. And Chrysler sold their share in 91 but anyway, I believe he was referring to the fact that Willdue's "dsm" has a somewhat reversed dohc neon motor and thats why its not a "real dsm," bc it wasnt a 4g63, not bc of the name change, which is why I posted in the first place. You just gave his argument a valid point, so he rolled with it lol.

Sounds a bit high to me. Bring it to a DSM shop and let them take care of it. Should be far less than that quote if it is as simple as what you posted.

OK. 1gs are dsms GVR4s and 2gs are not. Although GVR4s and 2g turbo cars are rightfully considered by most to be DSMs. The fact that the 420a has nothing in common mechanically with any DSM pushed it further into widebody neon territory. Actually, I cant believe Im argueing about this.. you're right, he has a dsm.

Run along now, this is guy talk.

Huh, in that case, you should probably look into running along as well, youve added nothing significant to this conversation, and ive seemed to further your rambling so I should also stop. But congratulations, youve made us aware that you think its a neon. Now go get a tampon and stop being all pissy about it. You are trying to save your argument that was intially about it not being a dsm bc its a "neon," and trying to back it by now saying its bc its a 2g. Just stop.
