I'm nervous, haha. Today I take my fitness test as the first step to gain acceptance to the police academy. After that I'll get scheduled for a reading test and psych exam, and them I'm in!

I'm not really worried about the test, but I'm still nervous. I was just out of shape for a while. But I found out in early February that the fitness test was going to be Feb.27 instead of late March like I was orignally told. So for the past few weeks I've really been busting my ass and I've made a lot of improvement.

So yea, wish me luck! The test starts at 3pm in Conshohocken, so I'll post up when I get home.

EDIT 6/13 - I took my test today and got accepted. ****in' A right. Have an oral interview in Mid-July but the Assistant Director was joking around with me today and the Director shook my hand when I left, so I think I'm golden.

what does the test comprise of?

1 1/2 mile run - 13minutes 22seconds
300meter dash - 62.1 seconds
Bench press - 1 rep at 93% of body weight (I weigh just under 200, so about 185 for me)
and 35 sit-ups in 1 minute

Like I said, I let myself get pretty out of shape over the past year or 2, but nothing too drastic. I'm back in control now and I feel confident.

sounds fun.. im sure i could do that.. not right now, id need about 2 weeks to get back in shape. good luck though

300m dash I can easily do.
sit-ups I can easily do.
bench press I can easily do.
1.5 mile run, 95% chance I can do it.

I've been training off and on for the past 2 years for the Army Ranger PT test:
Pushups – 80-100
Situps – 80-100
Chin ups – 15-20
2 mile run – under 13:00

I didn't know you had to pass a fitness test. I guess it's a once and done thing, because I know some cops who wouldn't have a prayer running 1.5 miles in 13minutes lol. Anyway, good luck man!

My friend is also trying to get in to the academy. All I can say is, they are some sad ass test requirements!
