web design

I wanna start web design in my free time, such as designing forums/pages/myspace pages, things like that.

So my question is, what programs/tools do I need to do so?

How do I up the templates to web pages?

Anything I need to know? Any experiance?

dreamweaver is a good one, but if you really wanna get good, using html-kit will help you learn to write code instead of just pushing buttons on dreamweaver.

well youre going to be able to create web design, this does not mean you'll have your own web page. you're going to have to purchase web space if you wont your own site.

myspace blows as a development platform - get it out of your head that it is a worthwhile pursuit.

How do you develop real web pages?

You design exactly what you want the web page to look like in photoshop, splice it, export it and then overlay it with interactivity as you wish.

Of course there are a TON of other ways as a website can be completely flash driven but this is how I learned to do it.

Dreamweaver is the best for people who are basicaly lazy, writting the code so that an image will appear is a lot more gratifying. i am now devloping programs on c++, and also my teacher is actually teaching me to create trojan programs

precisely what i was trying to convey earlier. writing your own code is much more satisfying than pushing buttons that are embedded with code. such as in dreamweaver

gratified by doing things the hard way? Thats like saying you'd rather use a wrench then a socket?

I use dreamweaver and flash. I learned it on my own. i got a good book and I spent lots of time playing around. Personally I get more gratification from doing the work quickly and efficently and seeing the end result. If theres a tool that will help with the work, and help me get it done faster, I'm going to use it. And if you are a complete beginer, which it seems you are, dreamweaver would be the better tool. (you can just write code in dremweaver if thats what you fancy, but you just aren't limited to that too)

If its primarily for myspace, just get generators. They are everywhere. Honestly, with the way generators are popping up and the ease of not knowing coding, i don't think you will take the time to learn HTML. The basics are very easy to comprehend. One more note, you most likely won't make cash. I did webpage designs & graphics for a few months out of fun and a little extra cash. This is how hiring for pages break down for majority of website builds.

A Customer tells an audience what they want, You spend your hours making a legit site, submit your final piece by deadline. Then the buyer picks the best design out of everyone that submitted it. But if you do go that route, its going to take up lots of your time. Good Luck though if you do.
