its pretty funny, but i dont know what they are trying to make fun when apple has the same security prompts in osx when you try to install something.

i love those commercials to death... you can see some (all?) of them here... they are listed at the bottom... that 'meant for work' one is pretty hilarious though... haha.

the ads are ok, but they would be better if they weren't BS

Touche: OSX has been running on generic PC's since before a final build of the Intel Tiger was even out. I'll still let apple have this one though, because it's not easy for the typical user.

Work vs. Home: utter BS. they make it seem as if windows doesn't even have graphics. XP is quite capable with digital camera operation, photo organization, etc. and if you dont like whats built into xp of course there are limitless amounts of other programs you can choose for windows.

Viruses: it's easy to fly under the radar when your installbase is so small. times are changing, and ignorance to a problem only breeds further insecurity.

Restarting: macs need to be restarted every bit as often as pc's do. in fact i have an 8 year old laptop that runs 24/7 at my place that hasnt been restarted in about 2 months.

iLife: eh,.. apple can have that. free photo software. yay.

Network: again, Windows doesnt have problems with digital cameras as they so claim. and for the record, Windows XP can talk to Macs or Windows 98. Macs can only talk to Windows XP. So which is the better networking machine?

Security: yeah, macs do the same thing.. and the complaints about how much vista asked for permission have dwindled since it came out of Beta.. so its safe to assume thats been tweaked(havent used it yet personally so cant say for sure)

Tech Support: no pc's include a camera? all macs include a camera? BS.

Surgery: pure BS. yes many computers need to be upgraded for the premium package(actually, its the "ultimate" package), but 90% of home users have no need for it.

Sales Pitch: i see way more Apple ads these days then anything for pcs? it's ironic that they'd even post this on a webpage containing nothing but advertisements for apples.

Meant For Work: how can they call the pc "meant for work" when it's game selection is about 8000 times larger than that of the macs? not to mention the ability to tweak and upgrade a pc which you cannot do on the majority of macs

Smoger man no offense but go away. We've been over this in multiple threads you have your opinion other people have theirs. You work on macs all day and therefore swear they are crap. I feel for you I work on windows all day and think it's just about the worst thing out there. No need to show up and go on describing what's wrong with each commercial just because some guy thinks they are funny.

I used Vista by the way and if you want to see all the things they show in the ads, and didn't buy your pc in the past six months to a year (or have a gamning setup) you better upgrade.

Back on topic those ads are great, I liked the christmas one and the vista upgrade lol. Everytime the new ads come out the guys I work with and I hop on the apple site to watch them.

haha, thats great but im posting facts, not opinions.

im not saying anyone is wrong for liking the commercials.. just pointing out that they achieve humor through "blurry" claims and half truths. no need to tell me to go away.

honestly, i really would love the macbook if not for the hardware problems. i love the magsafe power, i love that its small. i didnt love having a battery die in a month or that recent airport issue i was talking about yesterday

macs kick ass, my family switched from pc to mac a couple years ago. my lap top for school is a macbook and it does everything 2x as good as a pc.

i also have windows installaed on my mac so i can run any software that isnt compatible with mac. best of both worlds only from MAC

I think the whole industry is a sham....I run nothing but programs i get for free. I run free antivirus and haven't had a problem in 5 yrs. My brother in law pays tons of money to one of the big av co's and has nothing but problems. The only people i know that really use macs are graphics guys and alot of them are even starting to use Pc's

The commercials are really funny though. LOL

lol....in what way? you can use photoshop on either platform. macs do have final cut pro, but thats just software. thats has nothing to do with it being a mac or a pc.

while i do think that apple has some really creative and cool products. i just kind of get turned off when i see them lie in their advertising. anyone here with a mac knows they get a pop up box, and need to enter their password in to install an app. so why make it seem like vista is the only one with the feature?

my pc is at least 3-4yrs old now. it runs vista flawlessly !

Lol. I have never seen that exact commercial before. However, I have seen others and I think they are very funny - especially the one you posted.

But, it's too bad the commercials take advantage of ignorant people how don't know anything about computers. It's propaganda. Mac is just as insecure, if not more, as Windows.

im sorry but im one of the biggest apple guys you'll meet, i have my problems every once and awhile but i never ever ever will switch back to pc's! I love my macbook! PC's are for PC people.. I for one am sick of the day to day problems rather than the once a month accurance of a program that unexpectedly quit.

There i spoke my mind...as for the commercials they are some of the best marketing ive seen in a long time and they really stick in your mind! Maybe thats why mac sales are up 50% and most of them are people switching from PC to MAC so i would say that the ads work!
