HUMVEE driving in Iraq and pushing cars to the side....

I know it's for safety, but whatever happened to winning the hearts and minds of Iraqis? At least put some sirens and lights on the HUMVEEs so Iraqis know they are coming.

http://break.com/index/humvee_drivin...i_traffic.html

P.S. It's hilarious how some of the cars swerve out of the way. It's like in GTA3 when you have a police car with sirens on. LOL.

The sound sounded almost cartoon-ish.

My father is doing this right now...Cept they dont go through this kinda traffic!

Their policy is, DONT DRIVE NEAR THE TRUCKS. Get too close, you get a warning shot over your car, try it again and you get bullets put through the block of your engine.

The Iraqi's know whats up! There is nothing more dangerous than being stopped in traffic in the middle of the streets!

Because that's how the Iraqi's drive, thier nuts. It ain't like here .
Soldiers have drive agressively because of these little things call IED's
Good idea though, let's put lights and sirens on a MILITARY VEHICLE so #1 it can be easily seen and #2 can be identified from a distance so said bombmaker can hit the HUMMER easier. You didn't hear the driver of the Hummer WHALE'n on the horn? It sounds quiet because the cabin of the HUMMER is probably at least a LVL1.

Maybe instead of complain'n about hearts and minds you should enlist and walk a mile a soldier's shoes. You'd make general in no time with ideas like yours.

I love when people complain when they have no idea what it's like over there.

Rule #1 keep moving. Winning hearts and minds comes second over a soldier coming home alive.

You can have the lights and sirens turn on only at certain times and then have them retract back into the HUMVEE when you need to maintain some level of stealth.

Your narrow-minded viewpoint is what is killing soldiers every day. How can you say that winning hearts and minds isn't important?

P.S. I'm enlisting in May.

well no offence, but when you enlist you can go right ahead and park in a humvee in the middle of the city and see what happens

TRUE

last year i was watching a news show that had a mercinary(sp?) telling iraq stories. He was hired by companies to 'protect' investments, along with other Turkish 'fellows'/mercinaries. This guy was the best of the best, baddest of the bad. He said he thru-up many times and ended up quiting the job because the Turkies militants hired were driving over cars with families in them, running over women and children....etc.etc. It would have to be realy bad for this bad A$$ dude to get sick. Shooting people is one thing but running over women, children and babies randomly is pretty sick IMO. What goes on over there, many of us will never know, including the military folks over there. But whatever. My father was the most decorated Vietnam vet (5 silver stars, 3 purple hearts, nominated for congres med of hon 2 times, 6 bronze stars...etc), so i have alittle different, not altogether poor views on Iraq/Bush.

Cool Video . I like to see them try that in North Philly

OMFG. I'm not saying that what they're doing is wrong. They have to do it to be safe. But, I'm just saying there could be better ways of doing it while making all sides happy and safe.

There's always a better way, when you have the luxury of looking at something after-the-fact, not under stress, and certainly not with your life, and the lives of your crew, in danger.

This is the same type of Monday morning quarterback crap you get from out of shape sports fans who say they could have thrown a better ball than the QB did during that certain play.

"he could have...I would have...".....yeah? Well, I call BS.

If you could have done a better job than the quarterback, the coach would have called you up at home, asked you to get off the couch, suit up, and get to the field....

Unless you've been in a Hummer and had people shoot at you or set off bombs beside you, I don't think anyone's qualified to second guess these people.

You better not enlist. You would be better off in congress.

Wishy washy romantic views about how we can make a difference and treat people better while standing on protected soil is exactly what is going to get you killed.

Kill or be killed. Those people don't like us, don't want us, and will do whatever it takes to make us go away. You can't win a war like that and you can't change the thinking of a people that were raised from the time they were born to kill Americans.

I wanna see you put up the money for your retractable lights etc. The average American citizen has such a narrow minded view point on this war that it's sickening. I wanna see everyone who complains spend one week over there and try and "implemant" some of their ideas. I'm willing to garuntee that their view point/stance would change. We as civilians do not know what it takes to win a war, so we need to STFU and let the military do their thing. By us interferring and protesting/ doing stupid **** it's making it harder for the men and women of our country who are over their fighting for another nations freedom and safety.

And don't even get me started on how biased the media is, which is what the majority of Americans base their information off of. I am no different, but I feel as though I have a different stance due to my uncle serving in the first Gulf War with the Marines. I have thought about enlisting several times and in all honest wish I could, but due to certain physical conditions I would never be accepted.
