my new car is having some starting issues. it usually starts fine every morning but if i take it for a long drive, turn it off then try to start it again its completely dead. anyone have any clue what my problem is. battery, alt?

are u trying to start it right after you turn it off? sometimes cars have tough times getting started when the engine is hot

Does it turn over?

Troubleshoot it.

Need Spark, fuel, and air to run. You obviously aren't getting one of the golden 3 when hot.

turns out it was a beat ass battery. put a new one in and i'm having no problems whatsoever. it was a stock battery from 1991 so that was a bit of a problem. all good now, we'll see if its totally fixed tomorrow morning when i try to start it up.
