Auto-Theft...

Not really sure how to title this...but I figured that would get your attention.

In all the recent Honda thefts and other car thefts in the area recently...no one ever mentioned what kind of anti-theft these things had.

Did all these people have super-nice, super-clean, cars with NO security...

...you've got to be joking me.

not many people put high end (worht the money) alarms on hondas. In the end though obviously it would help. If they dont have an alarm then they should get theft insurance.

I have an alarm... but can also pull the wheel...

P.S. I have carpet in the front now so it isnt just bare like in the pic. I also got rid of the SAFC, replaced it with SCT Xcal-2, which is REAL tuning... Mustang owners on the site can vouch for SCT.

I have 3 tunes on my car... plus the stock one... I also have a switch to kill the PCM and one to kill the fuel pump. One of the tunes is a limp/valet tune so if they somehow get it started, they can only go 60mph and it is limited to 3,000 rpm...... And they cant use the PCM out of the computer unless they get it unlocked.

I put the limp tune on and pull the wheel if Im leaving town for a while but the car is also kept in a garage when Im home...

Basically, multiple levels of security as far as them taking the entire car. That help with your question?

I saw your little :P at the end... I was just explaning myself. Its cool man.

Anyhow, I want to upgrade my alarm sometime in the future. Probably at the same time I go turbo... more things that could be stolen, the better the protection has to be...

alarms cost as little as $150 installed for a basic alarm. if you can't afford that you shouldn't be in the car modding hobby

I have a alarm, fuel cut off switch ( which was actually installed for racing and also kills the battery) and the built in protection of a broken diff. They arent getting far with that. Also my house is like hidden.

Ok here is a general list of what to do to keep your car really safe
1- good insurance
2- good INSTALL for alarm
3- autolock
4- fuel cut off
5- Detachable steering wheel (good brands have individualized mechanisms that are not replicated so you can't use another person's wheel)
5- 4 walls around the car (AKA GARAGE)

also in case they want to tow your car- always park in front of something so they can't lift your front end, and then put ebrake on for the rear, and also turn your front wheels so they can't tow it straight.

Yeah, Hondas are real bad for theft around here. Sucks.

Friends turbo CRX got stolen. We found a dude with stolen parts from it, called the cops. What'd they do? Nothing. Go figure.

Detachable wheel is nice, in my opinion every honda should have one. Who needs the club when you have this:
