Hello people. I was wondering if anyone had any kind of information on getting a salvege title for a car. Or can you post up some links. I want to know the process for it or how much of a hassel it is to reg. a car with a salvege title. Please I would like to know real quick. Any information on this topic would give me a start. I've heard that once a vehicle crosses state lines it looses its salvage title, I mean assuming it pass inspection...I've always been weary of Salvage since it could be for many reasons, theft, sever accident, flood, etc... drops the value of a car a great deal but there could always be little gremlines hiding in the car for when you get it home...Thats if you are thinking of buying one...

I've also heard of importing "JDM" cars by getting it with a salvage title but I don't believe it is easy or legal to do it this way...call PennDot they will answer any of your questions, I called an talke to them before about buy a car without a title and what i would have to do and the guy was like its not worth the time money and hassle...but anyways they were helpful

Send a message via AIM to CarbonIS
there's like a 30 page form to fill out when trying to register a car with a salvage
title. there are specific picutres that must be taken during the repair of the car
to be included with the form. and a car with a salvage title is automatically
worth 1/2 the book value.

A friend of mine got a S-Title for a Jeep. It took over 1 year, but I don't know the details. It might be easier to buy the vehicle and sell it to a title company(Broadway Title/International Title Co) and let them produce a regular out of state title.
