UPDATED: Would you let Circuit City put an alarm in your car?
I bought the alarm at circuit city so I was going to just get it installed there. Has anyone had bad experiences with getting stuff installed at CC (the one at Main Street in Exton) Keep in mind, I am swiping my dads car while he is out of town to get the alarm installed as a surprise. The car getting F-ed up would be a BAD. UPDATE: got the alarm installed on friday the 29th. Brought the car in at 11am. They were very professional, they logged the mileage, had me sign some papers. They said it would be 4-5 hours for the install (which is good cause I wanted it done and back in my dads garage before 6:30). I came back to check on the car around 3pm. The car was pulled into the install bay-- good sign. I go in to check on it and they say that they just pulled the car in and havent started the install and it would be 1-2 more hours. Dissapointing, but no biggie. I linger around the store for about 20 minutes and still nobody has even touched the car. Getting a little annoyed. I go home and wait for their call. FINALLY they call me at 6:45pm to tell me the car is done and is ready to be picked up. I go in- the car looks great, everything works, I finish all the paperwork and take the car back home. The install is very clean and professionally done. They mounted the valet switch and the 'brain box' in a very inconspicuous area-- the alarm indicatior LED is very cleanly mounted in the center console. Overall I think they did an excellent job in the install-- I was a little dissapointed in how they told me it would me 4-5 hours but it ended up taking close to 8 hours, which in turn ruined the surprise element I was planning as my dads xmas present...-- BUT the install was done very professionally and alls well that ends well, right? They did a good, clean and professional install job I have to admit I was impressed. Thanks for all the advice! Last edited by WRXD; 01-02-2007 at 12:45 AM. |

I guess getting anything installed anywhere is gonna depend not on the place doing the install but the guy on duty who will be doing it. The best way to have a nice job is to find someone here who's knows someone on the inside with a good reputation that will do a nice job.

circuit city
I worked at both cc & bb as a mobile installer and all I can say is alot of them take short cuts. Get nit in and out the door working and hope itdoesn't come back. Not to say say that's all of them but most from my experience.
