Just bought a random orbit 10" buffer, mothers polish, and mother's wax. any tips on how to use this? how much/little pressure to apply? etc.

i wouldnt use a buffer if you dont know how to. it'll will burn your paint. can i see a pic or something?

i think the key is not pressing hard just going lightly with it....let me find it

It is a random orbit polisher which means you will not damage your paint. I use the PC and love it. A kid could wax a car with this thing. Go to Autopia.org they have great write-ups.

If it is a rotary buffer then you must know what you are doing. ALSO, please don't use the supplied pads. I am sure at that price they are garbage and will do more damage then good.

ya a random orbit buffer will not do any damage to your paint its pretty much impossible. The supplied pads do suck though.

I use sonus pads on a PC. They are amazing!

How many coats of polish should i put down before waxing. the guy at the store said do about 2-3 coats of polish to make the car shine, and then a coat of wax. also is it better to apply to the whole car and buff off or work on one section at a time? thanks

work one section at a time. what kind of polish is it? high-line? or a heavy polish? details here buddy and then i can answer some questions. but right off the bat, i would polish, then wax. take a panel at a time, slow and steady wins the race.
