Tail of the dragon Interest thread

I want to take the nsx down to deals gap this spring and was wondering if anyone was interested in going as well, maybe make an official TST run/weekend thing out of it.

For those who dont know the dragon is widely regarded as the best driving road on the eastern coast of the united states and features 318 curves in 11 miles as well as some fairly serious elevation changes and beautiful scenery.

heres a 10 minute clip of a nsx chasing a f355 on the dragon

for more info

www.tailofthedragon.com

my schedule is subject to change but right now im looking at (hopefully) being done with everything and home in late march so for now lets plan on doing this at mid to late april or so, probably take a friday off to drive down, spend all day saturday taming the dragon shooting pics sightseeing etc, and drive back sunday

I would be interested to go, but I have to look at manning to see if I can take leave.

Dave you have to hit one of Pocket_Rocket's runs. The last 2 runs that I went where nuts!

I am trying to have my car ready to go down there this coming summer. Team-Integra does a "Run of the Dragon" each year and they book a whole hotel near bye. I have talked to a bunch of people who have done it before and they all say it is a lot of fun.

Damn, it's 6 hours for me to get to the TN part of the dragon. But, if a solid date is made, and there a lot of people going, I'll probably make the trek out there.

hoping pocket does his spring run at a time that im free ;) I really wanted to do the fall run but Iraq happens.

response is looking pretty good here considering ive only had the thread up a few hours ;) hopefully i can give you guys a solid date soon. just gotta wait untill the army gives me a solid date that i'll be home

depends, it is kinda a long drive just to drive..but it looks/sounds fun
so it depends on if i can get off work (meaning i need a def date more than like 1 month b4hand) and 2 if i find a competent co-driver, i dont wanna drive all that way myself, and i dont trust anyone with my car as of yet

I'm down. I missed out on one earlier this year, so I need to make up for it. We should book a hotel like dt98gsr said about team-integra, not to jack their style, but i think more would be willing to go then.

We actually talked about this before. We were going to shoot for next spring/fall . Drive there friday, get a hotel room. Wake up early on saturday and run the dragon till we are beat. Sleep at the hotel again saturday night, and then drive home on sunday!

Dave - perhaps you should hit “Pocket” with a PM and maybe organize it together. He was already thinking about this for the spring/early summer.
Thread here - http://www.tristatetuners.com/forum/...ad.php?t=20678

I’m pretty sure it’s a green light for me. His all-Evo-run was a blast.

You should also check out Route 125 one you have a free day. Fantastic mountain road and it’s local.

I'd have no problems doing that as he has far more expirience organising and running these kind of events

An eight hour drive per yahoo maps to the NC part of the dragon. So, probably about seven hours. Give me an exact date, hotel and what not, and I'm for sure there.

I was thinking more along the lines of May, but your schedule is more unpredictable then anyone of ours. If April works best for you I’ll try and shoot for that.
