i'm going to see my best friend from WA for the first time in a year for christmas time. i know he's going to get me a video game so i'm going to get him the same. he only plays PC games and i know he has counter strike and likes that kind of game. any ideas for a new first person shooter he can play online that's fun? i've been looking online but im not big on them so i dont know what ones are good.

It's no Counter Strike, and it is old, but Day of Defeat (DoD) was a big hit in my high school a few years ago. Its a Half Life mod like CS, but its based on WWII. It would get real intense, we had a clan of kids in my high school. SilverBulletRL and Dexter (can't remember his name on here) were in it, they would remember. I'm sure theres still gotta be a large ammount of people that plat it.

we both play dod, but it's a CS mod that you can just download for free so I wanna get something else

hmmnnn idk much about pc games or if this even falls into the category of what your looking for, but i played black for xbox and it was a sick shooting game. maybe they make it for pc too?

He might like F.E.A.R. I played the demo for 360 and it was really good graphics-wise. I didn't get much of the story from the demo, but I know it won a **** load of awards on PC

I only played the demo for Q4 when it came out on 360. So faced paced it made my eyes cross. I loved playing Q3 a few years back on PC, so I would imagine Q4 would be much more hardass. I remember the graphics were sick on the 360, so if your buddy has a rig for a PC, I'd say Q4 would be a good choice.

Fear is the ****, but I beat it in like 2 weeks.

Quake 4 is also good but I beat that in 2 days (it was summer and I didn't have a job)

That sucks about FEAR, but I've always kinda treated Quake as a multiplayer, mainly.

The story is interesting and Fear is a rediculously hard game when you crank up the difficulty setting. I beat it on normal but have toyed with it on max

The new Battle Field 2142.

You CANNOT go wrong with that...especially for a Counter-Strike player.

Battlefield 2142 ::: he needs a good graphics card to play it though. I think it needs to have at least 128 megs of video ram

q4 is such a dope game, but it cant rival Q3a, unreal is a good series, anything with ultra-gore is always fun
