Can I get busted for plagiarism if I use one of my old papers?
What do you guys think? Would teh prof. give me a zero because I already handed in the paper and had gotten a grade for it before? Will he even notice? He does have something like 5 other classes to grade. Oh yea, its due at 7pm tonight lol so hurry up!

i dont see how, its your own work. i dont think the teacher will like the fact u completly copyed ur other work, from one paper to the other.

YOU wrote the paper on the topic ALREADY. Why in the world would you have to re-write the paper if you agree with everything that you ALREADY had written?
Hand that **** in. I wouldn't give that question a second thought. You already did the work, don't do it again. But to be more specific, no, it's not even plagiarism. And NO, he isn't going to notice. Think about it...a paper on the same topic. If it's correct information in the paper, everyone has practically the same thing written. He won't realize. I actually wouldnt be surprised if he did make copies of it. Its a pretty tough class.
I actually went to the Library just now and had a librarian check his online syllabus, noting about self-plaigarism, and then I had her put in writing that she thought it would be okay for me to do it. Then I had her sign it, date it, and I appologized for being "So anal" Lets see if he busts my balls over it lol. Worst case scenario I have to take my case to the Ombudsman, in which case I she her the librarians notes thanks guys!

plagiarism is when you steal ideas and words from someone else.
unless you have a split personality

I wrote one research paper for 4 years of college and just re-paraphrased it for like 4 or 5 different classes. Nobody ever noticed.
I would say cite your own paper if you want to use it exactly as written. I think it will look impressive to thee teacher, citing yourself. |

^ Sorry I took so long to reply.
I actually took it to him, and I asked him straight up. I said "I already did a paper that awnsered these same exact questions, I checked with the Librarians and they gave me the Okay. I was wondering if I could change around my old paper and use that as long as I cite my work?" To which he responded "I'll allow it only because in my 10 years of teaching I have never had someone come to me and honestly ask me." I was so excited I could shyt lol Virology is one of my favorite classes. I actually use a digital voice recorder from wal-mart and when I get home every night I break it down into half our segments and label what is in each one. Then i just read the materials and listen to the specific lectures which relate to the topics of the papers we are given to write. Its super effective. Thats what I had planned to do to write the paper. I can just search through my ipod and pin-point the exact lecture in which he outlined the entire paper. I have even quoted him in some papers. I think I have over 40 CD's of lecture, something like 700 hours of lecture over the course of my schooling. For example, I have lectures from freshman 20th century world history through Penn States General Orthopaedic Medicine. If anyone needs anything let me know I can email the .wav lol.

At temple we have an INCREDIBLE plagiarism contract, and basically it'd be illegal here. I'm transferring immediately lol

I forgot to add that there actually is a self-plagiarism rule.
