In need of some help here ladies and gentlemen...for anyone that has seen the movie American Psycho could you point me in a direction for a film presentation that i have to do. I also need to write a short paper. I'm in a real bind here because my brain simply isnt working at the moment and i cant for the life of me figure out what angle i want to take with this..ANY and ALL help would be greatly appreciated. TIA

thats a very difficult movie to write about...you have to watch it a few times ive seen it voer 50 some odd times and i still dont fully grasp the concept, i in my personal opinion that he has insecurity issues, hes very materialistic about everything and he commits these murderes inorder to make himself believe that he is still alive, in the end he has a total mental breakdown and the lunacy portrayed in the film parallels that of the pandemonium going on within his own head, he himself cant figure out what the facts to life or or his own reasoning for life itself, i dont quite remember the end..

but i killed paul allen with an axe to the face

hope that kinda helps..

Edit: But what you could write about is how you are never sure whether Batemans crimes are real, or just imaginary, but his slide into insanity is clearly real and paced expertly by Bale.

His character has so many deep rooted emotional issues in that movie that I would try and stay away from writing about that aspect , unless you can pin point one particular trait and elaborate on that....that might work.
