Bedroom dilemma

OK so here at school i have an aparment. I live with two other guys. Well theres one big room and two small ones. I currently have the small one and theres a possiblity i can move into the big one the second half of next year. I like the smaller room because since its small it warms up quick and is sort of cozy but it can be annoying because its next to the bathroom. The big room is well bigger but its at the front of the house so street noise is more and the wall connects with the opposing house so you can hear more stuff through the wall and it is above the living room so you can easily hear the tv. Well I sort of want more space in my room and I was thinking of going with a loft and throwing a desk or my futon under it.

There is a metal one at ikea I like. Its $199 for a full bed (im not sleeping on a twin bed again) and then there was an option (cant find it online but i hope they still have it) for a desk that clips in under it. Heres the bed:

It might be to close to the ceiling though, with it at full height ill have like 21 inches to sleep. Which isnt alot. I figured since its metal i figured i could cut it down to a shorter height. And i found like what i need to sit comfortable under it and everything and i now have 28inches or so to sit and do w.e. So im asking the Tst community what everybody thinks of this idea.

Pros:
More room for me to do stuff in my room.
Put a my Futon (current bed) Under it and still have a bed
Normal Matress will feel better on my back
Bigger desk to work with if i go that route

Cons:
Its basically a bunk bed
Might not be enough head room
Will look dumb and girls could be like "WTF how old are you again?"
Could end up being ghetto cuz its lowered

So TST what should I do?

I cant figure out why you feel the need to post this on a meegage board, but i'll try to help you out.

I use to have that loft setup and it wobbles a hole lot and can be a real pain in the ass to climb in and out of. It also is insanly tall. I had to cut the legs of mine so I could sit up on the bed.

In short, stick with the futon. Goodluck getting a girl up in the loft with you.

21" of head room is not good for when you have a girl over. Neither is a bunk bed I guess, but thats another story.

So I can find out stuff about the product. Also why not post it to get someones opinion.

Ps: I got girls into a twin size bunk bed last year in the dorms. What makes a loft so hard? I actually know alot of other guys that did also

My bed does take up 1/3 of my room lol. I think im just ending up buying a new bed and putting the futon down stairs in the living room. And it isnt as hard as you think getting up into a top bunk. Last year I had a bunk bed in the dorms and used to do it all the time. Never had a ladder you had to climb up the side. Getting up isnt hard its getting down thats the pain. Ive tried a few times to roll off and land on my feet lol
