Digital Camera opinions

Hey guys,
I'm getting a Canon SD700IS Silver 6.0 MP Digital Camera as a Christmas present and was wondering if this is the best for the money. I looked at reviews and I guess this is the best for the price but was wondering what everyone thought on it. Thanks.

I have had my SD450 for almost a year and I am very happy with it. The size is great and the picture quality is pretty impressive. Once you figure out how to work it you can take some pretty impressive pics.

This camera is responsible for getting me interested in photography, I know it's not the same exact model but I imagine Canon has only improved the design in the SD700.

I say go for it!

Another good cam in the same category of compact digi's is the Casio Exislim.

I actually got mine yesterday, havent really played with it , but it made a great first impression.

Good site to look through, scroll down towards the bottom and they have the best compact digis on the market and do in-depth reviews.

My choice was between the Nikon Coolpix and the Casio. The friend has the Coolpix and its a great camera , I went with the Casio because the lens was a tiny bit better and it was 10 megapixel instead of 6.

Either way I'm sure you'll be happy with either of the cameras on that list, just look through the features see what most appeals to you and go from there.

(Should be in Photography section.)

What are you looking for in a camera...simple point-and-click...more advanced light options?? What??

Oh shoot, i didn't even check to see if there was one. I apologize to everyone on this, especially all the moderators. Thats gotta be a B*tch to see all this. sorry folks.

I'm looking for something that will be fit & snug in my pocket. Something not to advanced. not looking for anything to take a picture of the stars with ya know. Definitly a camera with quick picture action. Meaning i want to be able to snap a picture quickly without it taking forever to adjust and take quick multiple snaps with. And great quality of course. Thanks.
