any dei alarm is good, and iirc you can have proximity sensors on any of them

most alarm systems, including top of the line viper systems do not include motion sensors. They are an additional item that can be connected to any Viper system. I have the 771XV which is the 2 way paging system without the LCD display. It comes with the standard shock sensor, but I purchased the motion sensors separately.
Best bet is to find a pro, tell him you want your alarm to go wild if someone even looks at your car funny. Chances are they'll give you the works. The alarm in my Intrepid is capable of going off if a squirrel walks by or if a decent sized leaf hits the car. BTW... Viper Alarms (well, all Directed Electronics products) are far from "the best." They're just the most common. Like Pioneer and Kenwood are to speakers.

why would you buy a brand new car and no afford comprehensive?!! anyways as far as alarm, it's only as good as the install. and dei products will work, and i suggest glass sensor, possibly tilt (will go off if car is tilted from a tow truck), a fuel cut off an in car deterrent (club, autolock) and finally a garage

It's all about Layers when it comes to protecting your car. The more things you can throw at them the better.
As far the Viper alarm systems or any Directed Electronics alarm any sensor ie tilt, or motion sensor with the exception of the shock sensor is an additional option and doesn't come with any of there alarms.

I have the viper v5000
this jammy I've been very happy with it. Read up on it. It never hurts to also have a couple kill switches hidden as well. Fuel and battery. And if you are deathly afraid of theft just pull your ECU when you park your car. I used to have a civic and I never felt safe with just the kill switches and alarms so I would take my ECU with me everywhere. Pain in the *** yes. But peace of mind is a good thing. Oh and the viper alarm has a tilt sensor so if they try to tow it cause the ECU isn't there, the alarm will sound.
