ok...So Booster isnt the problem..

ive bled and bled and bled the brakes and Tho it may be partly the booster.. ( which i dont understand HOW it went bad DURING a brake change) .. Im more bent on it might be the right caliper is stuck. I read on I-club that someone had this problem and took the slider pins out and regreased them.I jsut need to know if this is a good idea to try and see where it gets me or should i just get the new booster.Im tryin to save $$ for the upgrade..unless anyone knows where a WRX is in a junk yard and i can snatch the whole rear brake set up including the spindles come friday morning.

your thread title says its not the booster, but it sounds to me like you havent done anything to confirm that?
you'd be able to see if a piston was stuck because it would be binded up in the caliper. greasing the slider pins is always a good idea but actually wait the stock brakes dont have slide pins, they just have those spring clips, which i guess could bind as well.
however, it sounds to me like you havent ruled out the brake booster yet.

no not totally.. Trying for easiest fixes first.. If i can elminate them then I can get down to the problem.I dont want to have to replace something that isnt bad for sure. Not to mention I dont like feeling like i wasted money on something i cant return..maybe its a combo of things?

Thing is how can a brake booster go bad WITHOUT being on the road after a brake change? Is that possible?

It was fine BEFORe the brake change but then after it my brakes dont work.nomatter how much i bleed them they still feel spongey and i still have no brakes.

How are you bleeding the brakes? Speed bleeders? Another person? Is there some error in this method? Also, if you're pushing the pedal all the way to the floor when you bleed the brakes it can damage somethings, possibly the seals in the master and maybe even the booster could be stretched too far.

i say the first, cheapest, and easiest thing is get another experienced bleeder in there just to be absolutely positive it is being done in the correct way.
also the ABS system on the Subaru does not have a conventional bleeding order. i believe its passenger front, driver rear, driver front, passenger rear, or something like that... i found it on scoobymods.com but its definitely not the basic 'farthest from the master cylinder to closest to the master cylinder' like other cars.

Why not try and grease the slider bolt? Takes maybe 10 mins and the cost of grease.
