does this estimate sound right?

only other damage is the quarter panel has 3 dents the size of quarters, the guy wants 1100 to fix it. the estimate says 12.4 hours of body labor @44/h, 7.6 hours paint labor@44/h, 7.6 hours paint supplys @ 21/h

Buy a new fender and get it painted, WAY CHEAPER. Maybe look into paintless dent removal systems like dent man or whatever is in your local area.

I know places where you can get a whole car painted for $1500.

i asked if it was with a new fender cause it seemed like a lot, he said it would be more for the labor so i left. the guy was a white trash asshole anyways, i wouldn't let him touch my car. aftermarket fenders are cheaper than the oem ones but they're ass ugly Z3 fenders or these VIS fenders

Buy a stock fender, or find one in a junk yard. Take it to the body shop and put it on yourself, shouldn't be too hard.

The car is new, you should be fine. Just get the rest of the car detailed and it should match up perfect. Technically, you should get it blended but it's up to you.

yes its true.....it'll be pretty noticable if you just have someone piant the fender and slap it on....they need to blend the fender in with your hood, door, and bumper to make it look right

Its not about the car being new.....if you lay down too little or too much base when just painting the fender the red will contrast differently then the rest of the surrounding body parts

Thanks for telling me, because I didn't paint my car 2 times already....

He should be fine, I have painted bumpers without blending and what not even with custom 3 stage paint.

Try it, im pretty sure it will turn out fine.

Well if he's willing to settle for Fine then sure...go ahead and do it that way..... there is a reason body shops blend paint when repairing body panels that are in accidents...they sure dont do it for $hits and giggles....they do it becuase they want their work to look more then.... fine

haha.

I just don't wanna argue with you, it's worthless.

Like I said, my car is in and out of the body shop with new parts, new paint, etc, never had a problem without blending it. Maybe you just go to a run down shop or something.

See the problem is dimitri the guy who did your car has the exact mix for your paint there could be 7 or 8 variations for his tiburon depending on build date and factory that is why they must blend on that

That is probably a reasonable estimate. Someone one this site opened his door on mine and they wanted $650 to repaint the door and blend it into the front fender.

Red is the hardest solid color to match... Just a few extra drops of color additives, and the shade will be wrong...

Good luck man.
