i saw someone made a thread for battlefield so i figured id see if anyone plays cs. i just started playing again and its always more fun to play with people you know so if anyone plays cs 1.6 holla at a brotha my steam account is under jzdg2400@aol.com im pretty sure

meh source is cool but my computer cant handle it now for ****. i pwnt source and i havent played 1.6 in about a year. im still getting back into it and doing terrible. maybe we could have a TST used to play cs clan haha. and id love to switch to BF2141 but my computer cant handle source it wont handle bf.

when i tried to play counter strike for some reason noone was playing online i thought maybe no one played anymore

were you playing source at obscene hours? source has a lot of bots which piss me off everytime i go into an empty server. cs usually has many people playing? maybe you didnt turn cs on?

I like playing CS:S, but it (HL2.exe) constantly crashes on my computer, so i don't play it much anymore.

Go into your STEAMAPPS folder...and delete your HL2 and CSS entries. The next time you load them...it'll re-extract them from the downloaded cache and fix your problems.

rock and roll i just got done playing. i play on a laptop too its good for portability but its hard to get in a good playing possition. do you by chance have a config that isnt terrible? ive been looking all over for one and i dont like the ones i end up getting. haha steve you probably play cs more than you fix your dsm

No No No!!

The ACTUAL folders...the .gcf files are what needs to be re-extracted (automatically).

Delete the folders.

You don't need a full config...here...start with the DEFAULT config...fix your keys...then enter the following into console.

rate 25000
cl_rate 9999
fps_max 101
cl_updaterate 101
cl_cmdrate 101

THEN open your config file (in the CS folder) and add the following for the MWHEELUP//DOWN sections...

bind "MWHEELDOWN" "invnext;wait;+attack;wait;-attack"
bind "MWHEELUP" "invprev;wait;+attack;wait;-attack"

That makes it so when you spin the mousewheel it AUTOMATICALLY switches though your weapons.

Also...

cl_bob "0"
cl_bobup "0"
cl_bobcycle "0"

(Makes your weapon STOP bobbing up and down and recoiling however you will need to make your config file READ-ONLY (by right clicking the properties of it in Windows))

PS: Yes I have spent WAYYY to much time near the first HALF-LIFE engine...I was developing a mod that went to hell when everyone went to college.

i play 1.6, mainly on this 1 server which is a warcraft server~ very good way to pass the time and save money!!!!!!!!

thanks for the config commands never really got that far into cs and switching computers suffers becuase of it.

i dont know how people can play warcraft servers, i go in them and play regularly and get pwnt cause people warp everywhere. i dont like them one bit. to each their own though

james did you play in any local clans? a buddy of mine had a cs friend who made a similar config to this which made no recoil or bob and i deleted it on my old comp. ive been looking for it ever since with no luck what-so-ever. his name was brian maybe you guys know eachother?
