umm.... i'd say hang onto it and don't open it just in case the delivery people come knocking. If not i see it as fair to give it to me, since im still rocking a nice 1996 cd player. lol

The right thing to do is to phone DELL and tell them. They can tell where it is suposed to go by checking your shipping address to the address on the Credit Card it was paid from...

The fun thing to do is to keep it and use it all you want.

I like to think that good Karma pays off!

Soo any feed back on what happened?
If not, you probably should call dell, you never know it may have been someone that was saving up for a while just to buy that mp3 player.

Under normal circumstances I would say give the company a call.

However, you opened a package that wasn't designated for you. I would simply say if UPS comes a knocking that there was no package outside your door (thieves - this is why UPS shouldnt just leave stuff lying out on door steps). If you hadn't opened it, I would have returned it, but you don't want to call dell and have them call the original customer and have the orig customer be pissed and press charges on you for mail tampering. I think the intended recipient would be glad you returned it, but some people are just assholes.

If it came from dell, you can be sure they can track what happened to it and the guy will get it another one ASAP, plus a little extra something for his trouble.

Dell gave me **** about it, not for opening it, but because I said I would be happy to ship it back if they would pay for the shipping.

Who cares guys, he did the right thing in the end. If DELL won't pay to ship i to them then I say screw them in that case. He gave them a chance to get their item back.

Maybe the fact that they won't take it is the good karma that he gets for trying to make right on DELL's mistake.
