so i got home from school today to find a deep red '95 325i convertible sitting in my driveway. the other day my dad thought it'd be fun to have one so now we have one. the car is spotless in and out, 100k on it, inline 6cyl automatic, m3 wheels, AND I CAN'T DRIVE IT!! apparently, its a Pa state law that anyone under 18 (im 17 till may) can't drive a convertable without a roll bar unless accompanied by an adult 21 or older. either way, the car is awesome and all i have to do now is convince my dad to upgrade it from its stock condition. any suggestions on what to do?

That's wierd. I know a few people under 18 years old that drive S2000's. What a weird law.

P.S.--I don't know what the bimmer would run in the 1/4 but I can't image it being to fast. Especially a convertable, they add alot of weight.

not tht weird. a lot of newer converts have them built in to the frame, making them legal. i didnt reserach this yet, my dad told me it

In all honesty I think it'll run 17s maybe 18s e36 325i and automatic is not a very good combo for racing. It's a car to chill and cruise down to the beach in.

Get a custom cat back made up for it. And do a basic K and N. I dont know what they have out for that car but stuff was expensive when i was looking at parts for my buddys bmw. Good luck with it, haha and i just think your dad wants it all for himself.

i wouldn't be suprised if he did.
and yea he bought it for mainly crusing not really for racing but i'm gonna try to get him to up it a lilttle bit at least

My guess would be 16's in the quarter. MPowerKai is right, it is a cruiser. Nothing to be ashamed of though. rocking a convertable bimmer to the shore with some ladies.

yea i think my sis 325xi, which is all wheel drive runs high 15s so the 325i should prob run high 16s

[edit] and it may not have a rollbar, but the front or rear seats SHOULD have braces built in, incase of rollover

ok so i just asked my dad about it, its not a state law, its the way that he has it insured, he said its insured so no one under 18 can drive it alone cause it was $1g more a year or some bullsh!t like that, either way, car is nice...pics have been added too

yup thts how my insurance is set up, i cant drive two of the cars my family has without one of my parents with me
