and its really starting to piss me off! anyone have any suggestions on what i can do about it? i have to have my car parked on the street since there's nowhere else to park it. i was thinking about buying some type of security camera and recorder, but i have no clue about any of that stuff.

i might know who is doing it, but i have no proof.

Me being my insomniac self would stay up the whole night and watch if they are doing it every night. but i guess cameras are the conveinent way too.

We had a similar problem. What I did was got some friends, beer and paintball guns with frozen paintballs. Sat out around the car/house in the bushes behind the trees and so on and waited for them to come. It took a few nights but they came. Once they walked up to the car/house and bagan to throw eggs we ambushed them and started pelting the hell out of them with the paintball guns. One got away but two fell to the ground in pain. Not going to go into details of what happened next but it involved zip ties, rope and spray paint. Lets just say they never came back and we never had a problem again.

Surprised they didn't sue...they probably would have won too.

I would get a security camera/motion spot light. That way you had video evidence when you go to the police. I realize it's your baby that they are egging but waiting for them then jumping them can get you into legal trouble, especially if you are an adult and they are under 18.

IF it's on your property you can practically do whatever means necessary...it's your property.

If it's public ground...don't expect to shoot...then its' fully chargable.

Umm maybe if this was down south! Do you realize where you live? In one of the most liberal states in the US. You realize that if you have a pool, a burglar hops your fence, slips, dies from drowning, YOU (as the owner of the home) are responsible for his death right?

Trespassing is an offense by LAW, not by HOMEOWNER'S LAW. There is a difference between defending yourself and defending your assets with physical harm.

If there is someone in your home, just about anything goes. you can't shoot someone in the back, they have to be a threat, or believed to be a threat. Once they've exited the house it gets sketchy. Unless they are actually a threat to your life, you really can't do anything.

If they're egging your car..anything does not go. they aren't posing a threat. You have the right to defend your property to an extent. You can't beat someone to death over it, you really can't do a whole lot other than call the cops.

As I recall, if their back is toward you, you have to tell them you are armed and if they don't leave you will shoot them.

im pretty sure scapegoat is right. they need to be posing a threat to you, not your property.

that being said,..(if someone was in your house) i cant imagine the cop that would question "he was reaching into his waistband, i thought he had a gun"

OP: if your car is parked near your house, you can get a security camera with a monitor and all for about 30-40 bucks at harbor freight

That happend to me back in HS with my eclipse. I ended up putting my video camera in the window, saw them egg it in a specific car and the cops busted them that night. They paid for a brand new paint job and I busted the kids jaw up a lil. Fun times but yea that sucks just try to catch them one night. If they do it on a daily basis you know they are coming back, wait for them in the car because they are not going to see you anyway.

Get a shotgun, sit in the bushes and wait for them. Rack the shotgun when they're in audible range and watch them **** themselves and run.

Actually, while this would fly in texas, it's probably not such a great idea here.

damn i come back from wahing my car and look at all the replies!

unfortunately my car gets egged about once a month, so i really dont know when they are gonna come next. i was also thinking about getting a car cover, but that seems to me like it would be a huge pain in the ass, covering the car every night, and then taking it off every morning. and i hear the cheap one can actually cause more harm than good.

i never thought about calling the cops. doesnt seem like they would do much good anyway, right?
