Sad to say that TriStateTuners will be going offline sometime around Oct. 15, 2024. After 20 years online, times have changed and its no secret that the forum's activity level has slowed to a crawl. Its been an incredible run with so many amazing friendships formed and community events held, plus all of the technical knowledge and entertainment shared online. I know I'm not the only one who has had both their personal and professional life impacted and improved significantly from this community, and I'm happy to have been a part of something so special. Thank you to so many people who volunteered to the community -- the entire moderating team, behind the scenes IT support, those who organized events, and everyone who contributed online to this unique local car community. I hope that many years after the prime of TST, many of you are still enjoying cars even if we are all "grown up" now. Please take the time to revisit your member journal and reminisce, or browse any other parts of the forum. Maybe reach out to an old friend or two and make plans to grab dinner and catch up. The timeline may change slightly but I wanted to get this notice up as quickly as possible to give everyone a bit of advance notice. Thanks for everything, TROLL

SmokeyBandit Tri-State Addict Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Lake Hiawatha, NJ Member #194 iTrader: (0)	NJ: Marked vs. Unmarked Today I noticed on I-80, an unmarked police car with the radar gun. Of course, everyone slams on the brakes to slow down to 50 mph (in a 65 zone). The question is.... if an unmarked police car pulls me over, can I demand the officer in question to call for backup (so that a marked NJ State Trooper pulls up) before I hand over my paperwork? What can I and others do when an unmarked police car pulls you over to ensure our own safety, without pissing off the legit officer? __________________ my FAST is grown up and drives a family station wagon
