Truck Wheels

Not much into bling bling and dubs, never did anything shiny on any of my cars, mostly fast domestics and a few imports, always have done fairly subdued wheels, like my current black ones on the 9-2X - even getting my Gold Rotas powdercoated black...

But, when I got a screaming deal on these Motto MT700s made by American Racing, they're chrome-plated aluminum, 17x10, will stick out just a bit, especially with the tires I'm going to run...I had to get them for my new Patriot Blue (dark) 2006 Dodge Ram Quad Cab 2500 (Cummins)...

It's all stock for now, won't have the tires for a couple of weeks - I'm going with 315/70-17 Mickey Thompson MTZs - nasty, squared-off mudders, about 35" tall.

I'll get photos when I'm done. It's a Patriot Blue 2500 Quad Cab with the ThunderRoad package (some leather trim, towing group, wheels, etc).

I don't think they qualify, they're 17x10s...

I thought hard about 20s or 22s, but I'm only going with 35" tires, and 6" of sidewall on a mudder tire, on a big truck, looks plain silly to me. If it was an Escalade or slammed 2WD truck, that's different.

Bling, bling, yo. I guess I'm too old to say that and be cool. I'm also too old to care.

Ease of maintenance....and they don't make tuner wheels for 3/4 ton 4x4 trucks...unless you consider HREs, but they start at $800 a wheel, and are still polished billet.

(At least she didn't make an "old guy" comment this time...)

Not a big fan of chrome myself but I love the way they look on trucks. I think they will look nice, there is a jeep around my way with some nice chrome rims and some big off road tires. Post some pics when you put them on.

I was looking at 20s for the GMC I had right before this truck...check out the Tire Rack, especially Goodyear's Wrangler Hp at $146 each, and Avon's at $139. (In 275/60-20)

Also, check out these 305/50-20s starting at $120 per..

Under $500, for a set of 4 20" tires, shipped? That's great...

I do LOTS of business with the Tire Rack - they have a warehouse in Delaware, so when you order before 3:00 and pay for normal UPS ground, you get them the next day.
