Fundraiser idea???

I know we did a fundraiser for the cancer foundation at XOTIC dyno....here is what im thinking

Maybe we could do a charity day (dyno, carwash, something) and have proceeds go to some anti-street racing group, or maybe have proceeds go to families who lost someone to street racing? I think it would be a good way to get the club name out, and get a good name with the police, so they know not everyone in a non-stock car is a street racer

now, on topic.

I think the event should be organized with a drag strip and be turned into a charity day there as well, invite the police out, invite local street racers out. Get the track involved in setting up some kind of trophy system for the night. Get some of the police out there w/ their personal vehicles, I know some of them are car guys. etc.

I got a location idea

I will have to try and make arrangements, but I think the school will allow.

Bucks county community college has a BIG poarking loit right near the main road, and I will talk to the school about allowing it there. I think they will be FOR this becase there are a lot of young drivers at the school, and it would be a good opportunity for a school event and kind of a headsup about being mature about the whole racing thing. maybe the school will even help sponsor this event.

one issue, no one can race.

You want to get the popo involved and make a statement, it should be at a strip. You want to help stop street racing, and raise money...get those people at the track to see what its like.

I for one won't be buying a pizza...I would however, go to the strip

There is thuth to your argument. I think first what we need is at least a 30 car participation, and then maybe a sponsor...would rev-it-up or millaracing be in on something like this?

Is there a place that may be closer to organize things?. I think the idea is good, but maybe something nearby for a change. Maybe the Northeast area...would the Armed Forces place(can't remember it's exact name) further up on the blvd(past Byberry) be a good place...or something similar...

I say you do something at a track. If you hold a racing event for this at any location other than a raceway, you're contradicting your cause right there. Invite the local law enforcement, even the state troopers... the more support the better. I'm for this event! Maybe 201 could do some sort of a sponsorship as well, I'm definitely open to it.
