Pretty meaningful Video

http://videos.streetfire.net/hottest...3c9bd352fd.htm

What are your thought on this topic. I know a LOT of people say its bad its bad, but they still do it at some point in time.

On a side note, anyone know the name of the song?

Sad story. Street racing is a wrong thing to do. I will never race but on a track. But I feel that is there fault if they get in a wreck or something.

I race sometimes..never on busy streets...and i dont exactly race, i just go there sometimes to touch up on like quick shifting and downshifting adn stuff.....street will remain unnamed...its called sand*****...tehre should really be police there sometimes though (if any officers reading this ask me for more details)..a lot of idiots go there to race..i go to practice (simply because i dont have access to a nearby track, and would never go on a stock civic)

Stop using logic....its illogical.

In all seriousness - he has a point. It only takes one error on your behalf or any other person's. Of course I think we would all be lying to ourselves if we got on our high horse and said that we have never done it. I admit that there is a road me and my friends occasionally race on. It's straight, no bumps, three miles long with no entrances/exits or sideroads and most importantly - NO homes or traffic. You can see from end to end and we have a quarter mile measured out in the middle of the stretch. The only people risking it is the people who choose to be there. If your going to do it, that is the "safest" way. Even then there is always a risk.

My track is 2 hours away and is almost double the amount the other guy posted. But...it sure beats wrecking my ride and potentially hurting myself or others.

I think law enforcement should take a better approach to street racing (and people with modified cars in general). It can never be stopped, but I hear some cities the cops go to the local drag races and challenge other kids. How cool would it be to race against a cop and smoke smokey?
Around where I live, the cops know who have the cars and keep a mental list of who has them. And then they harass the shiat out of you. It gets old reeaal quick. I have been to court personally over 15 times for exhaust "violations". Never been found guilty, yet it was the same 3-4 cops who were always pulling me over. You think the cops ever pull over a Harley with loud pipes? Psssh. And don't give me that "loud pipes save lives" bullshiat...I'm a motorcycle owner too. It's that kind of stuff that breeds the "us versus them" mentality. Ooops, I digress. I'll shut up now.

I couldn't agree anymore. One other way to think of it is, how about losing your life instead of just paying money. Never have done it and never will. Not worth loosing a great life right now. That is why I drag racing at Maple Grove for brackets.

Eric: they do that kinda thing out west. Forget which city, but I believe it was in California, but it wasn't a cop car. It was a turboed 350Z painted up like a cop car, with a cop driving it.

I see bad things arising from people being able to race Crown Vic's at the track, or other police vehicles. "Hey, I beat this cop at the track...I can beat him on the street too" Not to mention that a cop car would probably blow oil and coolant all the way down the track....

those ****ers should be sneaky and start turbo charging their cars, lol.

To be honest though...I'd love to race the new Charger police car...

A lot of people which have modified cars KNOW that they can outrun cops regardless of whether or not they race a cop car at the track. Anything over 500 HP could EASILY outrun cops. I don't know specifics, but I wouldn't be suprised if 400 HP could pull on them either.

I have no doubt my SRT-4 could outrun a cop car, stock. However, knowing that...and having done it, are two different things. You start letting people race cop cars at the track, they're then sure that they can get away.

you might be able to out run the cop but you cant out run his radio. They will just be waiting for you as you pull up to your house.

most people won't be thinking about that when they get that adrenaline rush due to the "fight or flight" reflex.

Me, I don't run from cops, as I don't give them a reason to pull me over. And if they pull me over for a stupid reason, I nicely mention my affiliation with the local PD

I was more thinking that the police are losing a PR battle more than anything. How many people here have been pulled over for one bullshiat reason or another. Where I live, it is very much the mentality that it is the modifiers vs the cops and we watch out for the 5-0 like the plague. It becomes a mentality for some that "If I am gonna get routinely pulled over and ticketed for NOTHING then I am going to make sure that I get pulled over next time for doing SOMETHING". Does it make sense? No. Do I understand it...yes. The police are here to protect and serve. I feel that ideal was lost (especially in low crime rural areas such as that which I live in) a long time ago. The cops here are merely revenue collectors for their respective jurisdiction. Bored? Pull over a "street racer", hit them with a some illegal mod fine, despite the fact that most of us "street racers" now the mod laws better than the Bubbas that ram around in their Vic's... What a joke. I see FAR more cops speeding around weaving through traffic like azzholes than I do "street racers" such as myself. And yes, I am aware that not all cops are azzholes, I got pulled once by a cop for not signaling after a pass. He only wanted to see what I had done to my Honda and complimented me on the car and politely told me to use my signal both prior to the pass and after. Those guys seem to be few and far between nowadays as more and more officers are egotistical alphamales on a power trip. I hope for ya'lls sake that you dont have cops like that out in the city. Out here it is rampant though. Bring on the flaming...I'm ready.

Have you seen the new cop cars? I don't think many people will be able to outrun them now.
