Fighters?

Just curious as if there are any fighters on here. I don't mean going out and trying to start fights with people for no reason. I mean martial arts, wrestlers, boxers and such. Im startin to train to start fighting again and im just wondering if there is anyone else in the same boat. Im pretty out of shape so its rough right now haha

I was a red belt in TKD. I'd love to get back into it. Testing got very expensive and then they raised their normal yearly rates. Couldnt afford it, plus I went to college. College + extra bills = cant even afford Ramen noodles.

I tried Capoiera in college cus it was free, but that was a joke. Pretty to look at but not practical at all.

did jujitsu for 6 months before the sensei, who was a good friend of my step-dads, decided to FUQ him over and destroy any chance of remaining friends.

Haven't found another jujitsu dojo since then, years ago. And I haven't had much of an interest in other martial arts.

Hatchsurfer: submissions are the ****! Thats what I loved about jujitsu. submissions, breaks, throws

lol same here. i got my black belt in taekwondo and cho son do (sp?). then i tried jui jitsu and tai chi for alittle while training for states and nationals, then junior olympics. id prob still be in it if i wasnt such a tard in school. unfortunitely having training classes 6 days a week during school doesnt leave much time for school work.

i wish i could get back into it now, but instead i play hockey, cause chicks love scars

Kenpo Karate is my base form which I started a while ago. A good amount of Akido thrown in there as well. I was going to start Jujitsu (not a ground based jujitsu, it is a throwing/breaking form) but my schedule didn't allow it. I don't really follow conventional form while sparring or fighting, I've picked up a lot from people who do other art forms like Tae Kwon Do, Jeet Kun Do, and Kung Fu. I knew someone once who did Shaolin Kung Fu for 5 years - the guy was rediculous, he could clear you jumping, no running start. Another guy who was my bass teacher specialized in monkey style kung fu - learned alot about articulating other parts of my body to break/stun (figures, didn't get alot of bass lessons in, but I sure as hell didn't mind it and neither did he).

Luckily I've only had to use it a few times, and everytime I walked away fine with nothing more than some bad bruises (usually all over my wrists or forearms) or a bloody nose.
