Sounds exactly like my civic. Except i'm running open down pipe so all the noise comes from the front. I'm in the process of making my own 2.5 in. exhaust too.

I've heard and worked on a lot of civics. None of them sounded like that.

To the OP: What muffler did you end up using?

srt's do not use mufflers. so most aftermarket exhaust also do not use them.

SRTS have resonators, also known as straight through mufflers.

a muffler and a resonator are two very different things. especially from a law enforcement standpoint.

No muffler on this guys like Henry stated. The resonator helps keep the tone down a little and prevents it to sound extremely hollow which i didnt want. I love it but its not for everyone. And i'll be damned if this sounds like a civic

Why should they care? If it's quiet enough, blah. I only had a resonator on my car (with the stock cat) for the longetst time and it sounded really good for an NA 4cyl, as well as not getting me into any trouble with the cops.

Also, if you don't call a 'resonator' a muffler, then 99% of the hondas you see dont have mufflers either. An Apex N1 muffler is nothign but a resonator.

One of our local smokies did the work for me. If he wants me to give him his well deserved credit then I will but it ran into problems in the SRTforums (long story)

comparing a 6" long 3" wide pipe to some 12" huge barrel doesnt seem the same. i understand what your saying but if you look at the two there is a much larger difference. mainly that an apex N1 muffler is $200+ a resonator can be had for $20. plus when cops pull you over and dont see an actual muffler, they dont care how many resonators you got on your car.

it sounds similar to a stock srt-4 without alot more tone... good work

i could definitely hear a boosted civic sounded like that through the right sized piping
